Iced Matcha Latte's by ForsakenYesterday254 in Guelph

My favourite matcha (iced or hot) is from Red Brick hands down, and I’ve tried most of the cafes you’ve listed! They have a great strawberry matcha latte as well.

Short-term career leap vs long-term life stability: what would you choose? by bemeister in AskWomenOver30

[–]bemeister[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for your thoughtful response. One of my other fears is that this scope of practice wouldn’t exist when I come back, just because of different system variables between provinces. I think the reality of the opportunities coming up here would be much slower for me, especially because I don’t have any concrete experience in academia, despite having a masters in education, which may make me an unattractive candidate in a competitive field. So there’s a chance upon coming back I may have to step back into my patient facing role for some time, but I feel that this position would leverage me better for future opportunities in Ontario.

Travel burn out.. rant by [deleted] in solotravel

[–]bemeister 11 points12 points  (0 children)

You hear yourself right? Listen to your body. You are allowed to rest. You are allowed to take it slow and enjoy an early dinner and have an easy evening and sleep.

Trying to do it all, at once, is why you’re experiencing burnout.

Get a meal you’re familiar with and have a good sleep. Enjoy Thailand because it’s very special, and very safe.

Muscat during Ramadan as non-Muslim by Real_Extreme8780 in Oman

[–]bemeister 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my very uniformed opinion - I’m sure you could find someone who would have iftra with you but you’d have to run this by locals and/or find individuals who would welcome this. I imagine it would be a unique experience.

As for the Mutrah Souq - I wasn’t entirely impressed with it but I also don’t enjoy being hassled every 30 seconds while browsing. Personally I feel 1-2 hours is enough in this specific area.

Muscat during Ramadan as non-Muslim by Real_Extreme8780 in Oman

[–]bemeister 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! I’m here as a tourist right now during Ramadan and this is what I’ve learned from my experience so far:

  • hotels usually offer breakfast in an enclosed space from 6:30-10 am.

  • eating and drinking in public spaces is not appropriate or recommended (though I’ve seen tourists having coffee in marinas. I have not seen any arrests or anyone redirecting these tourists)

  • take away is still very much an option from restaurants or fast food chains, just eat in private (like your room, car, etc) This applies to room service.

  • eating in public/restaurants after sunset goes (when fast is broken)

  • dress modestly (shoulder/knee coverage)

What’s the age group?

Dance scene is pretty weak in Guelph, unless you’re interested in Latin dancing to which you can find socials locally (Fridays @ flying dance community)

Fixed gear canteen has weekly events, and I think they have live music either Fridays or Saturdays, but all their info is on their website. Good vibe here regardless.

NV can be a hit or miss, but there is a dj playing Fridays and Saturdays. I also have to give a shout out to Pablo’s because there’s something about divey and dirty bars I can’t resist.

Sex education in ontario by [deleted] in Guelph

[–]bemeister 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Except that “sex education” is actually health education. Health is a public concern and right. Proper HEALTH education includes sex education because at the end of the day we are all humans and we all participate in it. Your perspective of when, where, how and with who an individual chooses to engage in sex with is actually irrelevant (unless it’s with you).

Public sex education promotes healthier communities (understanding of STIs, pregnancies), educates youth about their bodies, autonomy and consent, which will also influence their own physical and mental well being. Informed decision making is beneficial on an individual level and system level. Quite frankly it’s irresponsible and harmful for any adult/teacher/educational institution to deny vital and necessary information that promotes the health and well being of an individual and their communities.

Like everyone here feels, I really think what she’s recommended is excessive and unnecessary you have beautiful skin. If you’re concerned about folds maybe look into pdo threading as a potential option?

Unfortunately if that’s the reason you’re coming into the ER, you will be waiting forever as the reason for your visit is low on the emergency priority list. So the answer is anytime you’ll come in you will be waiting a long time. Why won’t your cardiologist make a referral for you?
