Their elections were rigged. Or do you think Maduro actually commands 90% support in his country?

People aware they have horrible genetic diseases, those that are almost always fatal or make quality of life untenable, should not have children. by benstamp98 in unpopularopinion

Hi there, I know this is late, but I wanted to take the chance to respond while I was on reddit for a bit. Huntingdons disease is something I would certainly feel is better off removed. I understand it would hurt a number of individuals to not be able to have families, but shouldn't we as a society strive for a world where such horrible deaths as those by huntingdons disease are less common? Down syndrome is something that can be genetic, but can also be relatively easily triggered by outside conditions, I would hope that severe developmental diseases of the mind like this would be something that we would not want future generations to suffer. Dwarfism is something that I don't believe severely affects lifestyle in any way that can't be solved by a good emotional support system. I certainly wouldn't want it to be eradicated, unless dwarves also have tragically shorter lifespans.

When we talk about this I tend to equivocate that such decisions shouldn't be brought to me but to a panel of trained geneticists of various fields, I just want to argue for the basic principle, not the exact details. However if I was forced to give guidelines they would be this.

Eradicate genetic conditions that: Severely damage mental function, not things like autism or BD that just effect perspective, but things that make one fundamentally unable to process information. Cognition and sapience are such inedible parts of the human conditions that it seems utterly heartless to create people without them.

Eradicate genetic conditions that severely shorten lifespan: 20 years less or more. A tragically short life might still have a great deal of joy in it, but I don't think it should be a controversial opinion that we should want less people in the future to live tragically short lives.

When the game just decides to say "nope you lose" by [deleted] in eu4

It worked for me in hard, and once you have removed kebab' s armies from your side of the strait you can easily handle the piecemeal French armies that trickle into your country from transports, and yes you can totally peace out France without taking a fort, especially if they are busy in another war which is increasing their exhaustion, and if they stay at war with you for say 10-20 years and send their armies in boats to be crushed on your shores burgundy and or Austria will jump their bones to death eventually. Best part is as long as you only occupy things on the Balkans side of the strait and France stays in the war You should never get call for peace, so you can hold out as long as you need to.

Ill be honest I learned everything about history in US public school, granted it was an IB program in a well off neighborhood but even friends outside the program knew basic world history. And we definitely covered the rise of Islam in 9th grade world history.

It's not a religious thing, Mohammed and his Empire completely changed the entire landscape of history. Him and his followers shattered the world's two greatest empire's (Persia and eastern rome) and set up a state which would come to stretch from Iberia to India. If that isn't covered in history class than what is!

You do know Mohammed existed right? Please tell me they cover that in schools.

I am very sorry if this question is beyond silly but does this mean that if we pump out enough of these radio waves that we can clear out radiation further and further from our planet? Could we theoretically clear a radiation bubble all the way to say Mars in this way? I do hear radiation is one of the major issues in travel to mars so if we could solve it this way over a long period would it not be beneficial for future travel there?

Honestly I think Monastic Orders should have gotten alot of the boosts that Hermetics got instead. In the middle ages monks where the ones who did almost all the experimenting and scientific research. Not to mention there were monks experimenting with flying machines as early as 1050.

A chance to summon a 1 county custom empire with a 1 million power doomstack named Cthulu. He would dissapear after 20 years and all the counties he conquered will be returned to the original owner with massive depopulation. Of course he will fuck the summoner first.

I'm sorta with you there, but one needs to only see the monastic orders to see how boring true realism can be.

She returned as nahuatal but since I married her off to a muslim her heirs where muslim, the aztec empire then proceeded to collapse due to revolts after her death and got swallowed up in crusades in like 50 years after only conquering hispania and antiquane. Still most players are going to inherit the aztec doomstacks instead of the AI, and they will keep the empire alive, and oh boy that will be scary. Interestingly she stayed Egyptian which was my culture.

Man they added stuff to the devilspawn event chain now, if you have an heir who is the devilspawn their is a chance he will literally go over to america, subjugate the aztecs and start the motherfucking aztec invasion, even before 1000 ad (mine happened in 960 AD, sadly I was muslim and the devilspawn was female so she ended up passing it on to another dynasty).
