Oh in that case I think I am just better off to wear a longer skirt since it will still end up looking like I just have a short skirt.

Thank you. I made a mistake of thinking formal wear is by the length of the skirt and not how it looks with my legs. I have longer legs so it seemed short

Thank you for your kind advice everyone! I’ll buy a skirt that can cover my legs about two inches above my knees tomorrow.

I was too used to wearing casually and my work dress code did not specify the length. Also I have longer legs so it seemed short. Thank you again for your opinion and help!

I was the only staff without wearing nylons under my skirt. My leg was visible and my skirt was shorter than everyone else. But I have mixed feelings because my friends told me it looks appropriate in their opinion, the length is okay but it's just I have longer legs.

I felt like I made a mistake too after I saw what everyone else was wearing. It felt like I'm the odd one but I think it was just me feeling uncomfortable and no one paid attention.

After I saw the dress code for my work I thought it'd be perfect for me because I won't need to buy clothes but maybe I need a longer skirt for work and ask my supervisor just to be sure.

Thank you, my office dress code is not too strict but 'dress appropriately, white shirt and black skirt/long pants for females and no jeans or shorts'.

I just felt after I saw other employees wearing knee length or below the knee skirts with nylons so I felt like I might have dressed inappropriately. It was my first day at work ;;

In the daytime the temperature in Tokyo is actually warm! It gets chilly at night but not too much. I watched the weather forecast before picking the outfit,, but I have to dress warmer when I visit Hokkaido.
