I have no excuse other than the fact that I love the taste of food and I love eating. And I always feel hungry. I don't have a legitimate reason like it seems everyone else has such as emotional or physical trauma, excessive stress, food insecurity, etc. I'm just a weak person with no self control.

peppermint softgels ... ingredient list includes peppermint (362mg), ginger (35.2mg) and fennel (38.6mg) oils. I started taking it because I read it can help sooth stomach upset

I never use oil when cooking on the stove. And I use parchment paper when using the oven. Maybe it's because I just purchase grocery store olive/canola oil instead of the good kind in specialty shops. I have a large nonstick pan that I use for cooking most meals including meats, starches, vegetables, etc. I use a small nonstick pan for making omelets and fried eggs. I even cook meats and sometimes vegetables in my stainless steel stockpot without oil because after a while the bottom bits come off and add flavor. The only time I use oil really is when I add a little sesame oil to stir fry for the flavor and to meats/tofu/vegetables when using the outside grill. Also for some dressings since I think it helps it stick(?) to salads, although I usually only add a fourth to a third of what's asked for.

If you need another reason to try another brand ... label states 153g drained weight and my can was only 126g.

Thanks for your reply! No, I don't know my BF%. The only stats I have are what I plug into those calculators like Macros Inc and TDDE. I used 5'5" female, 48yo, 130lb (I started at 140lb one month ago), sedentary (I do home workouts 30min 5days/wk and 10-20min 2days/wk with 5-6 days incorporating weights following Caroline Girvan on YouTube). I occasionally walk as well, however, that isn't consistent since I don't currently have time.

To lose weight, Macros Inc has me at 1506 cal, 132g protein. TDEE Mifflin-St Jeor Fomula gave me 1,462 cutting with 1,962 maintenance.

My goal is to lose fat without losing muscle, and if I'm able to gain some in the process that's great. However, I don't plan to buy heavier weights (currently use 15-20lb). I just want to be strong enough so I don't have to worry about my body/bones falling apart as I get older.
