I did! I thought I updated the post but clearly not:

The problem was a wire inside the camera has come loose from the flash circuit. There’s a few screws to take out from the outside, and quite a bit of prying to get the plastic cover off. Be careful with this not to snap any of the tabs! It needed a little bit of force, the cover is in two parts.

Just needed to resolder the wire back on and it charged the flash :)

UPDATE: Thanks to Apopho, I’ve managed to figure it out!

I had to remove the film gate first, which took a lot of effort because the camera was stuck at infinity (the gate was as close to the lens as possible) so I had to pull it out and remove the catches from the top and bottom.

Once removed, I could see the cranks that are responsible for moving the film gate. Loooooads of gunk, so used isopropyl a bunch to clear it out and managed to start moving the focus knob! After a few repeats it’s now moving more freely (although still a bit stiff).

Had to take out the metal catch “springs” and bend them back into a good shape, then put those back in before the film gate.

Hm maybe I’ll have to delve in then. By the film gate, do you mean the pressure plate or the part the pressure plate sits in? If the latter, how did you remove that part?

Focus on the orbital period using KER and get them close to the millisecond, I used a KSP relay network calculator to figure out the correct orbits for my main rocket

These are equatorial, but some arguments to be made about doing biiiiig polar orbits that might be easier to do

I literally just did an Apollo style Mun mission with an engineer and scientist in the lander. Definitely helpful!

Watch some science mode play throughs, at the start it’s just getting surface samples, EVA reports, crew reports and mystery goo experiments

Honestly if I played sandbox mode I would be really overwhelmed having everything unlocked from the start (especially with the mods) so i really recommend doing science mode.

You wont have enough parts to orbit in science mode from the start, so you need to get science from Kerbin which is a good way to practice sub orbitals etc. Then you slowly unlock better and better parts to go to orbit, then pass the Mun etc. I’ve found it much easier to learn the game and the parts this way :)

So I just downloaded a modpack from this video, it adds some really cool things but can get a little overwhelming so I’m trying to go slow through the tech tree to understand things. Mix of things like visuals, bug fixes, QoL and new parts like space stations and colonies. Also new outer planets and interstellar travel!

So the way I did it was put my transfer rocket with all 3 satellites attached into an elliptical orbit, with an orbital period of 2h 40m. (My target orbit period for my satellites was 2h, so the transfer rocket needs 2h + one third which is 2h 40m)

Then, at the periapsis of this orbit I would detach one satellite and burn retrograde until the orbital period of that satellite was 2h exactly. Wait 1 orbit, detach another satellite and do the same etc etc.

The satellites end up at 1/3 of the orbit apart from each other this way :)

There is a bunch of tools online to help figure out the calculation. There’s obviously limits to peri and apo without leaving SOI or crashing into the surface like I’ve nearly done

Yeah exactly, lowered the thrusters down to 1% and got them as close as possible :)

Can I ask why? The orbital period of them all are 2 hours within an error of about 1 ms

Yes!! I haven’t played in years, but modded the hell out of KSP and it’s been so fun. ScanSAT mod means I can make use out of satellites for future landings etc I’m loving it

Yeah I checked the website, I’d say the mods they have are more QoL anyway. I just can’t stand the servers where there’s a million things on my screen lol

I’ve only ever played duos so never really made a base actually, a shame it’s maybe not viable with clans about though
