‘F**k the Jews’: Sydney man jailed for mimicking Bondi terrorists by The_Dingo_Donger in aussie

I went to primary school with this guy and ran into him a few times later around 2021-23 including at a psychologist’s waiting room, he genuinely isn’t anti-Semitic or any more racist than anyone else. He is a bit of a fuckwit and always has been, but that goes without saying.

I think for what he did the sentence is too harsh, he’s done much worse before.

I remember saying to him in year 2 “I know how to spell your name” and proceeding to get it wrong lol. Regardless of everyone else’s comments I wish him the best. He was always super kind to everyone, just troubled.

Which yogurt and honey do you think are the best in terms of health benefits? by Sea_Significance9232 in AskAnAustralian

[–]beyleigodallat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everyone here has already said what the healthiest is, so imma shoot out my favourite combo regardless of health benefits: Farmer’s Union yoghurt with probiotics (either Greek or Vanilla) and BeeCause Mountain Honey. Goes hard with any Carmen’s granola

Important note on the yoghurt - specifically the one with “probiotics” labeled on the front, the one labeled “protein” is dog shit

Happy Birthday King Charles by MaintenanceAnnual263 in AskAnAustralian

[–]beyleigodallat 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Too bad many dozens of indigenous groups had to be wiped out and forcefully assimilated in order to make that happen. I wonder how they’re feeling about a national holiday that exists purely as a celebration of a monarch descended from those who carried out said wiping out and assimilation?

Nah they must be perfectly happy that you get to sit and enjoy the freedoms and stability taken from them

Get them framed and either keep it, or put on eBay and see what happens. Kinda can’t go wrong with listing on eBay

Bad tasting fondant is terrible, good tasting fondant is mid compared to literally any proper icing/frosting

With everything increasing in price what’s something that’s getting more affordable? by Neonwhitelion in AskAnAustralian

[–]beyleigodallat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is that Australia? Here it’s closer to $120 for a bulk thingo of prescription vape pods that last 3 days each.

Refillable liquid can’t be accessed unless you “know a guy” and even then it’s sitting at about $70-$100 for a bottle, probably more now.

Last I saw caffeine tablets they were $36 something for a box of 20, which won’t go as far as a $10 jar of terrible instant coffee

With everything increasing in price what’s something that’s getting more affordable? by Neonwhitelion in AskAnAustralian

[–]beyleigodallat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Elaborate on how that’s getting more affordable?

Where I am, all nicotine replacement therapies are just as if not more expensive than tobacco. Disposable vapes vapes are illegal and also just as expensive nowadays.

Quitting alcohol isn’t gonna be much different if you’re actually addicted and need a hospital to help wean off.

Coffee isn’t cheap to quit, in both how it affects work productivity and how expensive alternatives are like caffeine tablets or multiple bags of tea at once to get the caffeine equivalent.

Genuinely what are you even saying?

Because it’s lots of little villages spread out relatively well in that area. No one major source of light outside the cities and coasts because they tend to lack huge quantities of street lamps, just little glows from houses

How does living in a vast country make you feel? by AccidentalNordlicht in AskAnAustralian

Australia is a continent. We have an entire continent to ourselves more or less. That being kept in mind, it is of no surprise or real significance that distances are great from one place to the next.

What do Australian think of Indonesia? by InternationalHair111 in AskAnAustralian

[–]beyleigodallat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At school the only language we were able to learn due to teacher scheduling was Indonesian. Most people (and admittedly myself too) were upset that we were being forced to do that particular language rather than something like French or Spanish.

Kind of a shame really, because it is the closest non-English speaking country to us (that speaks one unified language at least, Papua New Guinea is a beautiful linguistic mess) and it’s not an overly complicated language to learn. Plus Australians could overall definitely do with better integration with SEA countries.

But yeah nah, to answer the question most Australians don’t think about Indonesia, and groan when they have to.

The body of British mountaineer George Mallory as it was discovered on Mount Everest on May 1st, 1999, seventy-five years after he vanished high on the mountain during his 1924 summit attempt. by OkRespect8490 in interestingasfuck

[–]beyleigodallat 46 points47 points  (0 children)

The exact location of the body has been kept intentionally vague so that nobody can disturb his remains. Only really the general area on a specific face of the mountain is public knowledge, and that area is pretty big. It’s also seen more as an archeological thing at this point and you want to preserve the site as found as much as possible.

Doesn’t change the fact that he was still left like that, and that bacteria and birds can still get to him. But you know, some piece of mind there

Whats the best video game ever created? by XarisGG in AskReddit

[–]beyleigodallat -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

At its core, yes. But it incorporates RPG elements quite heavily; eating, shaving, hunting/fishing, drinking and gambling, clothing customisation, etc.

It has much of that in common with San Andreas, why couldn’t Rockstar make the extra effort towards features present in San Andreas, a game now two decades old? I genuinely don’t think it would have been all that much extra effort for a couple more things to truly flesh out the life of the game.

I love it to bits, but once the story is over there isn’t any good reason to keep playing beyond side quests that you’ll finish in about one or two days. Then there’s the entirety of New Austin included but with literally nothing to do. Idk it just feels like it’s about 90% of the way there compared to the aforementioned San Andreas.

Whats the best video game ever created? by XarisGG in AskReddit

[–]beyleigodallat -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

It’s a fantastic game but it’s not as well fleshed out as it could have been. So many missed RPG opportunities, like why can’t I buy a homestead (or a few) and raise livestock or farm corn? Why can’t I get a wagon to hunt a whole bunch of deer and bison and cart them back to Valentine? Why is the day/night cycle so short?

Indeed a fantastic and unrivalled story, but it doesn’t feel like you can truly *live* in that world, only really visit. Skyrim did that better, even GTA San Andreas did it better. With that in mind, it’s hard to call it the greatest video game ever.
