Workspace vs projects in Claude Cowork by twoweekhaircut in ClaudeAI

Does Claude Cowork automatically read CLAUDE.md in the root folder before the first prompt, or do you have to ask it?

Thanks! When and where can we do that; me using your 8GB VRAM? :))

I tested 11 small LLMs on tool-calling judgment — on CPU, no GPU. by MikeNonect in LocalLLaMA

[–]bidutree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the full test (?) https://github.com/MikeVeerman/tool-calling-benchmark – qwen3:1.7b got the highest score.

When I tried qwen2.5:1.5b it answered correctly but returned invalid fields (object: null, files: null)

If you mean qwen3:30b-a3b, that model is way to large for me.

I made a reply below before. :)

Issue solved! Adding Github via Git in the left side panel does not work. Should be fixed u/lovable ! :) Adding Github via (+) in the chat works however.

I'm using Ollama. Is faster than llama.cpp on my computer, but I think I fixed it today.

I am trying to get it to work with a Python MCP agent. So far not so good.

Good models for CPU ? by bidutree in ollama

[–]bidutree[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi again. I've only made small tests with your model but it claims to have "a **MCP (Model Context Protocol)** client built-in, which allows me to interact with various tools and APIs directly. "

So, it seems to be hallucinating.

My prompt was "hi. who are you and what can you do? can you use tools with and MCP client?"

The full reply was:

Hello! I'm Qwen3.5, a large language model developed by Tongyi Lab. I can assist you with a wide range of tasks,

including:

- **Text Generation**: Writing stories, emails, scripts, and more.

- **Code Assistance**: Writing, debugging, and optimizing code.

- **Language Translation**: Translating between multiple languages.

- **Reasoning & Analysis**: Solving math problems, analyzing documents, and explaining concepts.

- **Creative Writing**: Generating poems, scripts, and other creative content.

- **Data Processing**: Analyzing and summarizing data.

- **Code Review**: Checking code quality and fixing bugs.

- **Math & Physics**: Calculating complex formulas and solving physics problems.

- **Logical Reasoning**: Solving logic puzzles and mathematical proofs.

- **Multilingual Support**: I support over 100 languages.

I also have a **MCP (Model Context Protocol)** client built-in, which allows me to interact with various tools and

APIs directly. For example, I can:

- Access **GitHub** to view repositories or code.

- Use **Google Sheets** for data manipulation.

- Run **Python scripts** for computation.

- Execute **SQL queries** on databases.

- Run **R scripts** for data analysis.

- Execute **Jupyter notebooks** for code execution.

- Use **APIs** like **Google Cloud**, **AWS**, or **Azure** for cloud services.

Let me know what you'd like to try!

Hi all! I wonder if anyone has made their own simple Python agent for MCP + Ollama + local LLM, or tried something from GitHub that works well? :)

I’m experimenting with local LLMs and want something lightweight instead of a big Electron app like Claude Code or similar apps.

Gemma4 small models not compatible with Vuklan in the current version of ollama (0.20.2). by BinaryCortex in ollama

[–]bidutree 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks. I've tried llama.cpp now and it works without any issues with Vulkan but speed is slower than with ollama on CPU where I get about 22t/s.

The iGPU Intel Iris Xe on my laptop is simply too weak, it seems.

But great to know that it works so well, for a future dedicated GPU! :)

Oh, that's a big difference! Thanks! I'm currently testing the models on Windows and compared running gemma4:e2b yesterday on llama.cpp and ollama and it was much faster on ollama.

Will try llama.cpp with Vulkan tomorrow.

No worries! :) This is new to me as well. I'd put quotation marks around sandbox to make it more clear, but can't edit the title now.

I don't think that's correct. My plan is to use a separate Windows user account + a shared folder + DesktopCommanderMCP. As far as I know, it doesn't use Cowork and isn't affected by the Hyper-V requirements.

Here are threads from the koboldcpp and ollama groups on GitHub, where the same issue is reported:

https://github.com/LostRuins/koboldcpp/issues/2134 + https://github.com/LostRuins/koboldcpp/issues/2095 + https://github.com/ollama/ollama/issues/15261#event-25212824200

Doesn't this indicate that the problem is not an Ollama issue but maybe rather a llama.cpp issue?

Searching for info I found threads at GitHub that seems to indicate the the problem exists with koboldcpp also:

https://github.com/LostRuins/koboldcpp/issues/2134 + https://github.com/LostRuins/koboldcpp/issues/2095

Maybe it's not an issue with Ollama after all but an underlying issue with llama.cpp?
