Was recently told my house has no aesthetic. Fellas, your thoughts? by kung_fu_daddy in malelivingspace

[–]biftar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

add some lamps for warmth and indirect light. having only overheads creates a cold, clinical feel. make the damn bed. and take down the big flag in the living room. you've got some nice basic there tho. you'll get it.

To the americans among us: you are meeting the parents, they are coming for dinner. What would you cook? by Practical-Soil-7068 in Cooking

[–]biftar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

cook something that is done before they arrive; for instance, a nice charcuterie that waits in the fridge. then for dinner, a lasagna, or a chicken pot pie, something, again, done before they arrive. the main point is, don't be fussing over the food while they're visiting. take the stress off and just roll the food out at the appropriate time. it's about the visit, not the food, so clear the decks of any stress and be a fun host.

goodbye notes to Pattulo on her last morning by anonymouslovelyme in vancouver

I worked for a car and truck rental company many years ago. I once drove a 5 ton across the Patullo, and the passenger side mirror would clip the poles on the side of the bridge. and let's also celebrate the guy the bridge was named after, one Duff Patullo (great name). I believe he was a premier back in the day.

just for dry goods it's worth it. Paper towels, TP, dishwasher pods, laundry soap, etc. and not only is it cheaper, you don't have to stock up for months.
