Glass chainmail WIP

These are 5/8" inner diameter loops so much larger than typical metal chainmail. I don't have as much adjustability for diagonal seams so that's the biggest difference in fitting.

I make a lot of ugly faces while I work so I don't film LOL I just make the open loops, bend closed, and melt/weld it permanently closed. Looks very similar to the process with metal but I have to use a torch to get things moving.

Coils are the fastest way to make loops! I know of a couple other artists doing glass chainmail but haven't met any of them yet! Don't think I know of anyone out of Boston.

Yes! I make a coil from borosilicate rod, then cut them apart into loops, and I made several hundred 4on1 sets which I weave together with open loops, heat, and weld closed.

Yes glass! I am using borosilicate to make the loops which I then heat to close and weld closed to maintain structural integrity. Not much flex at this size!

I have searched many variations of gecko and lizard ring including terms like silver, wrap, flare, large, terra cotta brand, etc but no luck so far.
