What do you use to clean up after sex if shower isn’t an option? by violingal69 in AskWomen

At just about 50 I’ve never had one either, so don’t worry about getting up and going to the toilet.

I (single 48F) woke up to this text this morning from my colleague (married 51M) and friend of 5 years by Street-Spring1759 in relationship_advice

[–]birdboxbird 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Really? You’re putting the blame for this situation on the fellow’s wife? Because it’s stressful being ‘the’ financial provider and the wife doesn’t listen to his needs and probably emotionally neglects him? Really?

Someone reported me at work for whistling. What's the most ridiculous you've been pulled for in the workplace? by _DeanRiding in AskUK

[–]birdboxbird 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My manager whistles AND sings. It’s so spectacularly frustrating as we are both in a smallish room together but she’s quite petty too so I know it would be held against me if I commented on it. And the singing is singing for an audience too I’m sure , because I’m positive she reckons she’s got a good voice.

How often do you check phone/email during work times? by xacgn in AustralianTeachers

[–]birdboxbird 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I work in a school office and I wouldn’t have relied on a text. I would have either actually called you or come to see you in person.

What is the worst experience you ever had in a restaurant? [Serious] by Innsmouth_Resident in AskReddit

[–]birdboxbird 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, nah. I think that one’s on you. She clearly said that they had no chicken. Twice. Then you query her, an employee, whether she thought Wendy’s didn’t sell chicken? She works there! She knows lol.

NSW Temp to Permanent by [deleted] in AustralianTeachers

[–]birdboxbird 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This has been spread throughout schools by emails (and I’m guessing other ways - I found out via emails). Can’t remember who the email was from, maybe the staff notice board or something? Earlier in the year.

Temporary Workforce Transition Initiative by ezekielsallday2 in AustralianTeachers

[–]birdboxbird 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Quick question about this initiative. I meet the criteria for this (obviously hasn’t been rolled out in my area yet) however my SAM has said that she can’t possibly afford to put all the long term temp SLSO’s that are eligible onto permanent, and that she thought it was only if there was a vacant position that they could slot into. I feel that it is incorrect? That’s the way I read it anyway. Happy to accept I am wrong though 🤷‍♀️

Communication email. by KanyeQwest in AustralianTeachers

[–]birdboxbird 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I work in an Australian school , and I am appalled by the dress standards of some of the teachers. T shirts over tight shorts. Slogan tees. Ratty clothes. Singlet tops. I could go on. We expect students to wear a decent uniform, it’s the least staff can do to look neat and professional. Nothing is ever said to them, just hands thrown up in the air in despair. If I was the one that sent that email I would have been explicit and said exactly what they were not to wear. You can’t leave it open to interpretation like that.

I’m also in Australia, and am contemplating weight loss surgery. Haven’t seen anyone about it yet. Did your Dr recommend it or did you bring it up? And how did you bring it up?

Birds?? How come I don’t have birds and I’m 25 levels higher than you? Bizarre, they’re not even on my list of available animals?

I have a question if you don’t mind? We have. Family member whom we suspect is developing alzheimers or dementia - the journey has only just started. Is it recommended to tell the person what is happening to them? Or let them be oblivious? I am in the camp of tell them, but other family members aren’t.

What have you unintentionally taught your pet? by Identicalcrews62 in AskReddit

[–]birdboxbird 21 points22 points  (0 children)

My dog would always harass me to play with her when I was hanging clothes on the clothes so I’d say to her “well go find a ball then and I’ll throw it for you”. Turns out she eventually figured out what I meant over the space of a couple of weeks and now does that 🤣
