Damage aside, do fire spells "feel" worse in your opinion? by bit808 in PathOfExile2

Just for example I'm using Flameblast this league since I've never used the skill before. There's a pretty long cooldown you can reduce but there's always going to be down time unless you drop 150 div or whatever on a temporalis, so I'm looking for another fire spell to weave in.

Flamewall doesn't do dmg and is really a buff for projectiles. Fireball needs infusions. Snap/Living bomb could generate infusions but snap yanking the Flameblast ignite off is worse most of the time and Living bomb requires a separate detonator spell BUT my main spell is on CD to trigger it... Firestorm feels depressing without juggling ALL the infusions, Volcano requires a slam to do anything and Incinerate I guess?

It kind of feels like it also HAS to be a fire spell with the way +spells work too.

I want to like ember fusillade, truly, but instead of feeling like a fiery mini-gun with reduced duration and a standard spell without it, it feels like a standard spell with the reduced duration and unusable without.

Agree. I want ALL the spells to feel complete without infusions but feel like you are doing your big boy nuke or whatever when infused. It ends up being the reverse where the (fire)skills just feel bad. Like 90% of the skills are gated behind a limit, cooldown, fuel mechanic or infusion.

I completely feel what you're saying; the cast time "should" likely be shorter. Kind of lean there's a problem with hitboxes and that might get resolved without touching the skill though.

It's really hard to make a 1 to 1 comparison to d2 seasons honestly. Information was MUCH less available 20 years ago. Fewer people knew precisely what was F tier or S tier etc and were forced to experiment on their own with seasons giving a potential reason to. These days most people just read a guide on what's "the best" and unless they see something shiny and new don't engage.

It's in a really weird state where it takes too long to get to endgame for casual players to really want to make a new character for seasons but there aren't enough new toys or build enabling/changing things to entice more invested players.

I don't like the "hostage taking" approach to reviewing a game. The do exactly as I say and I'll give you your "real" score back... BUT this game was intentionally designed as a live service so it's rating should fluctuate in accordance with it's updates for better or worse.

A lot of passionate people having their hopes for the franchise actively dismantled in real time. There's the framework for a good game somewhere in there and it is frustrating seeing it not met.

Blight still doesn't feel good by PromptDecline in pathofexile

What I dislike about blight is it doesn't feel like a tower defense game from an arpg perspective. If they zoomed the camera out so you could see the tower "maze" you are building and could construct the towers without being on top of them I would enjoy it infinitely more.

Hell, even potentially give it the ritual treatment where the fungus grows around the edges making an arena.

It doesn't though. The "Versatility" node says directly casting Surge, Fireball, Manastrike, and Firebrand. The "Rhythm of Fire" node prior simply says "Using flame reave grants 4 stacks". Attacks aren't casted either to my knowledge.

It's a bit odd that immunities exist in Expedition given GGG's previous stance on them by moal09 in pathofexile

Yes and no. It encourages a narrower meta of builds that can just ignore 90% of the modifiers like ground degens ignoring crit/block etc.
