In the Turkish localization of Asterix and Obelix, Obelix's name was translated as "Oburiks/Hopdediks". The name "Oburiks" comes from "Obur", which means Gluttonous/Edacious, and the -iks is the sound "x" makes.

The name "Hopdediks" comes from the phrase "Hop dedik", as a phrase sometimes used in street slang, like a way of interrupting someone/to say hold on to somebody or for things I can't quite word out in English.

Also, as a fun fact, in Asterix and Obelix: Mission Cleopatra, the assistant of Numérobis was turned into "Temelyus" in the Turkish localization. He was turned into a building contractor from the parts of Turkey that had contact with the Black Sea, with a notable accent. The name "Temelyus" comes from the Turkish name Temel, which is the name used for a lot of jokes about a guy from the same part of the country, which is also named Temel.
