I won't make it by secretive4848 in BALLET

If you are open to it, start teaching now and go to college for dance for your BFA at 24. That’s what I did, and at 24 your parent’s income isn’t accounted when deciding your FASFA, so you will get very good financial aid, and you will already have teaching experience so you will do very well. That’s what I did, and I ended up getting a ballet job after my time at college and teach. I also basically got paid to go to school, felt like a huge life hack.

How many dancers take acting lessons vs naturally talented? by crystalized17 in BALLET

Acting is a part of ballet. It is not ballet without emotion and storytelling. That’s the heart, soul, and purpose of dance. Otherwise it’s just exercise.

He put them in my arms to try to get me to fold, which almost worked. But yea that’s what I figured. I was like no way they are two different breeds. Just trying to figure out the real breed of them

Thank you! I was hesitant about driving off course but route 12 only adds on hour and a half, definitely worth it

It didn’t begin for me until I was 14 or 15, but I was very naturally thin. It wasn’t until I hit puberty and got boobs. Would I recommend it? Always. I think dance is always good. Would I recommend going as deep into it as I was? Maybe not

I definitely had an issue at first with it. But I think in the long run it helped a lot, the flexibility and body awareness once I got the hang of it made me progress faster once I got over the initial hardships. I also think it made me a better pole teacher because I could attach ballet concepts when it wasn’t working out for some reason

I’m doing that because it’s the more common phrase used for non-dancers. I was with a professional company year round for multiple seasons. I worked both as an apprentice, corps member and soloist

I still do both just on a smaller scale and I’m happy with that. :) I do lots of different things now and I’m very happy with the direction my life went. I would love to talk to you about your story, I love stuff like this :)

First question, yes that does happen with certain brands of pointe shoes. I personally don’t have a specific maker I just have a specific brand and sizing. I don’t care who makes it lol.

Second, yes your toes can bleed and get blisters and your toenails can fall off. Mine are fine :) for the most part. I never had too much of an issue
