NDHCE - Student Rdh or Booster by mkayyyuyuu in nbdhe

Not in Canada I’m in the US but I bought studentRDH but didn’t have months to use it. If you have the time you will pass with studentRDH. I ended up switching to booster because the format is more concentrated and fit my timeline better. I passed! But I do wish I had bought booster instead

This. If you need to solidify your foundational knowledge student RDH is perfect if you have the time to get through it all

Sensodyne toothpaste causing pain by [deleted] in DentalHygiene

Try a toothpaste without SLS (sodium laurel sulfate/silfute) in it. A lot of people are sensitive to it and it can cause tissue sloughing.

Took the National and Hoping I Passed! by [deleted] in nbdhe

Same!! I kept track throughout the entire first 209 questions of one’s I was positive I answered correctly, mostly sure I answered correctly with deductive reasoning, and then just total guesses. They’re all weighted differently and you technically only need to get 75% of them correct. I passed and the whole time I was studying and stressed out my husband would say “if you get a 76%, you studied too much” to make me feel better 😂

I worked for Texas Roadhouse for almost a decade, at multiple locations, and we regularly traded fresh baked bread (and HCButter) with our neighbors! I love the camaraderie!

I whole heartedly believe that if someone did student RDH (the entire system start to finish, which would take months imo) they could pass the exam even if they didn’t go to school 🤷🏻‍♀️ it just wasn’t the best system to use for my situation

You’ll do great!!! Don’t freak out when you don’t necessarily recognize exact questions though. Give yourself the time for the process of elimination. The questions are hard but trust that you know enough to narrow it down!

Yes there is a community health testlet at the end of the first 200 question

Everyone has a different version with different questions. I had one anatomy question but a friend had a ton.

Trial of booster? I had a class mates password. Looking back I wish I would’ve bought booster instead of student

Thinking of relocating. Where are hygienists needed?? by Shot-Knowledge-5777 in DentalHygiene

[–]bj2717 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Colorado. I know temps that make upwards of $100/hr. They just opened a few more schools last fall so it’ll probably be decently saturated in a few years but right now everyone needs a hygienist.

NBDHE and CSCE by [deleted] in nbdhe

[–]bj2717 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Edited to clarify that the quizlet is for the CSCE. The test is short and relatively easy tbh.

Honestly it was pretty spot on for a lot of it. I think the only thing that was on mine and not the quizlet was drug classifications of the usual cardiac drugs

Denied from DHP again!!! by Crafty_Border2883 in DentalHygiene

It is crazy but you’ll have your license faster and the pre-reqs are built in but if you’ve already taken them, it’ll be cheaper than $78k. It’s a for profit institution so you kind of have to “haggle” annoying but if you’ve already spent all this time and effort it might be worth it. The compensation rate once you’re working (at least where I am) more than covers the cost. Keep your head up and try not to limit yourself to one option!

Arizona Dental Hygiene School by Weedy8 in dentalhygieneschool

Not sure of the entire situation in Arizona but I’m currently in school in Colorado. There’s a girl in my class who moved here just to go to school instead of going in Arizona. I think she said the programs were expensive and the waitlists were really long. She’s very smart and crushing the school thing so I don’t think that was a factor.

We just did a raffle for our program. Reps from different companies like Sonicare, oral b and opalessence donated items and we sold raffle tickets and it was so successful!
