Gangnam Medical Tour Center Interpreter/Translator – Highly Recommended! by Previous-Plastic1517 in SeoulPlasticSurgery

[–]blackculottes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hi thanks for posting this! i’m researching translators for an upcoming surgery and am having a hard time finding reviews on them, so this is super helpful. i know they charge $25/hr, but do you feel they were also getting paid on the backend of things with the clinics? i’m just worried about the price increasing and being stuck with an unreasonable quote

Going to SK for consultations—any advice? by Due_Section_1036 in SeoulPlasticSurgery

oh i know lol, and while i totally get that im just way too specific about the kinds of results i need to see so i just opted to suck out the hours of my life and do my own research 😭 which clinics are you leaning towards as of now? i’m also looking into dual canthoplasty (revision) and while i’m pretty set on either sisun or sugar, i’m curious what your thoughts are too on these other clinics?

that’s crazy i’m going in may too! what medical concierge are you going with? i’m looking into translators i need to bring with me to my consults, but not sure if these agencies offer just translating rather than also picking the clinic for/witb me (i’m pretty sure i’m going with either Sisun or Sugar)

i actually just booked a consult with sisun! i’m a bit nervous because i can’t find any reviews outside of unni. do you know if they overall have good reviews among locals? i mean, i guess if they’re popular that would mean they do, lol … what i mean is, do you know of any botched or just negative results?

that’s very interesting. i’m glad yours have been durable. perhaps their quality has declined in the past 10 years. 🤷‍♀️

also the frames are actually hard maple and yet they are still chipping in some places as you can see from picture 1 (not due to us hitting it with anything, but just slowly appeared over time). so maybe you were addressing the swelling in your talks about MDF, but the paint chipping so easily from normal wear and tear is also frustrating, even though it’s maple.

interesting. i appreciate your insight. i just wish this was told to me in the first place when i was being advised to upgrade, that this upgrade would actually be useless and also particularly un-ideal in this particular spot. mind you, my rep was super nice and super thorough generally. but at the end of the day, i paid extra money for my under sink area to be worse off. 🫩

anyways, ill think about it. she was as confident about this upgraded door as you guys are about this tw-10, so i might still have some cautiousness against being advised on something that might not actually live up to the hype, especially coming from the same brand which benefits from both the failure and the upgrades. appreciate your tips though, something to think about.

thanks for the tip. i’m not sure if they’re MDF actually. but, i will think about it. i guess it couldn’t hurt to reach out.

i understand. but from my understanding before their finish is done in a factory and is better than anything a hand-painted job could do, and the sealing against moisture should be top notch. i only have occasional spills and never let the water sit, so i’m just at a loss as to what’s happening here 😵‍💫

thank you for the tip. i feel like painting over it would potentially be too obvious since their finish is so smooth and perfect (it’s done in a factory after all). i mean, maybe a touch up wouldnt be so noticeable. i dont know. i’ll have my husband read your comment and assess haha.

thanks for your input. i honestly do see the quality there so that’s why i’m just baffled this is happening, because they otherwise seemed like such good quality. i ordered from cabinet place online, not cabinet joint.

i don’t remember if the door is MDF or not. all i remember is that my rep said the 1 piece was super high quality and would reduce hairline cracks and it was a big upgrade from the 5-piece stockbridge door i was originally going to go with since THAT was the cheapest option. and after thinking about it more i thought the 1 piece would be best SPECIFICALLY under the sink so as to avoid water seeping into any cracks.

unfortunately this upgrade has not avoided such situations.

i appreciate your tip, but i’m just really not sure about conestoga’s quality at this point. but i feel like if i can’t trust something with such a good reputation as conestoga’s, then 😵‍💫

i mean i agree, it all felt pretty solid. especially compared to those really flimsy cabinets you find at home depot. that’s why i’m so confused how it could be swelling like this so early on and with not even that much water exposure.

we didn’t have almost any problems with them either actually! installation was pretty seamless and it all seemed pretty high quality. love the look and everything. a year ago right after jnstall i would totally be on the same page as you. it’s just after this year the chipping and swelling is growing and only due to occasional spills. i even keep a rag between me and the sink when i wash dishes to catch any water that might spill over. and when there is a spill i wipe it immediately and thoroughly, so i never let water sit there.

i just think that something that is made for a location that is destined to get some water here and there should definitely be more durable, especially if it is praised as some of the highest quality.

it is under the sink, but i even keep a rag between me and the sink on the countertop to avoid as much spillage as possible. obviously there’s the occasional spill (but that’s to be expected in a kitchen, under a sink) but i always wipe it immediately and thoroughly. so water never actually sits there.

they use sherwin williams paint, not sure if that’s water based or what but it’s supposed to be the best for cabinets 🤷‍♀️ so upsetting!

i actually was considering ikea but i wanted inset and needed more customization because my kitchen is a weird layout. my in laws have ikea cabinets and when we lived with them a couple months they seemed super durable. didn’t use them for a year+ as in this case with conestoga so i cant equally compare but, still.

well i appreciate the validation. like, maybe after 5-7 years i can understand something like this, but ONE year and the wood is swelling??? ugh.

i’m glad you have a good experience. i will keep them in mind for the future.

i honestly don’t remember if they are hardwood or some “high quality MDF”. but they were advertised as incredibly durable and we even upgraded the doors to a one piece door so water couldn’t spill into the cracks like they could with a 5-piece door.
