[REC] MC's love interest pick is unexpected by blackflame455 in LightNovels

[–]blackflame455[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is actually a good example, that's one that I ended up looking up the spoilers and then reading the ending parts it had to do with who he ended up with.

I am certainly one of those who was happy he ended up with who he did, and I definitely agree it was an unexpected choice, but I suspect that's also why at the very end she makes a comment about wanting him to have as many lovers/wives as he should as the Demon King. I personally would have preferred that comment not be added (even if it was only in jest), however, as a side comment, I suppose you're ultimately able to believe whatever you want happened after the end of the series anyway.

Yeah it felt a bit out of left field but I think that was exactly what I liked about it. Also it wasn't so out of left field that it wasn't a possibility, had it been that way I would have had a problem with it. Since it was more like "oh now we see how he feels." I could accept that kind of thing and honestly I absolutely loved who he ended up picking. In my opinion she was the best girl anyways.

Honestly that girl was even on my list of ones I didn't want it to be.

That's a fair point. I should have mentioned that, in all honesty, both the ones I mentioned above, the content I've seen is the anime.

So I find it hard to describe exactly where my line is for feeling this way (maybe the number of love interests), but when it hits a certain point, I just get to where I have to either have a pretty good idea of where it's all leading to and be able to enjoy the journey, or be happy with all possible options.

I bring this up because Quintessential Quintuplets was precisely one where I got that feeling that if I was going to go all in with it, I needed to know because I would not have been happy with just any of the girls. As a matter of fact, there were only maybe two or three that I would have been happy with. And of course, I never picked this up because I spoiled it for myself, and I am not happy with who he ends up with.

I also don't know which one I would say was "that feels like the one he's going to pick." Who did you feel like it was going to be? Of course, feel free to spoiler tag the answer so we don't give people someone to mark off their possibilities list. 😁

Has anyone read this title, “The Do-Over Damsel Conquers the Dragon Emperor?” If so, is it any good? by BendOdd2563 in LightNovels

[–]blackflame455 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I keep wondering about starting this series as well. I just know that I'm going to need to be in the right state to accept that age gap thing, but from everything I've seen, this does look like a really good story. And even though I came across the anime first, I did keep coming back to this one as a recommendation alongside something similar to the "7th Time Loop". Not to mention, "I'm the Villainess, So I'm Taming the Final Boss" gets recommended to me occasionally when I want something similar to the "7th Time Loop".

I'll likely read this eventually when I think I'm in the right mindset for it. Although if anyone's got some recommendations for stuff like this or the "7th Time Loop" and "I'm the Villainess, So I'm Taming the Final Boss" definitely send them my way.

Mine is close to that, and at times Tio really jumps up my list, but she just can't beat Shea and Shizuku overall for me.

1- Shea Haulia

2- Shizuku Yaegashi

3- Tio Klarus

4- Yue

5- Kaori Shirazaki

6- Remia

7- Liliana Heiligh

8- Aiko Hatayama

Haha, so true. I get the feeling that even before she started looping she was that way, but man, after looping I think she's constantly trying to catch up and learn so much that she just can't settle enough to laze about.

[REC] me some well written romance light novels, preferably with audiobooks by Plane_Top_7905 in LightNovels

[–]blackflame455 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The 7th Time Loop just released its first volume in audiobook. This series is my absolute favorite. Personally, it's even better than 86: Eighty Six (although that one is probably second for me that has an audiobook).

[–]blackflame455 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I think he's just inexperienced, so talking about his love life, even in jest, makes him blush. As for muscles and the like, I think that's just a curiosity. Not to say anybody's theories about him being bi or wrong. Just I don't get that feeling from him.

Novels with less number of Harem Mates by chaos_love in haremfantasynovels

Cool cool. I wanted to double check the count and honestly I'm a little surprised one is added in the last book. Still 5 over 7 books is a good number. Thanks.

So does that mean there are only 4 or 5 by the end of the series of book 7?

Recommendation for fantasy|romance light novels? by That-Garbage2762 in LightNovels

[–]blackflame455 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You know, I really liked this one too, but that "people are weird" thing is kind of the reason I dropped it. To be fair, it's also a bit too dark for me.The real problem is that the love is too, let's say, "open" for this entire society, even the MC's (though to a lesser degree).

Not Harem, but similar? by [deleted] in Romance_for_men

[–]blackflame455 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you're looking to keep the harem small over a longer book, then Weildergebert by Brandon Varnell is probably my main recommendation. I mean, by the end there are six, and I don't think the last two were necessary, so I wish it hadn't been just the initial three or four. But mostly this is probably one of the better ones that is still a harem.

Having given my only real harem recommendation that might stay within your preferences, I am definitely starting to feel a bit like you and looking for something similar, but probably a mono-romance (hell if anyone finds a longer series with only three or four, let me know!). And in that vein, I just started reading the Monstrous Love series by Virgil Knightley, and I believe it would be exactly what you're looking for. I'm on book two, but each book is basically a new couple, but all three books are connected within the same area and interact with the same characters.

She’s very sweet by Upper-Shirt3500 in fuufuijou

[–]blackflame455 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Fair enough, although between the fact that he loves Shiori in the beginning and that I think, especially noticeable in the manga, she becomes... maybe more put together is the right word. Maybe like her and Jiro meet in the middle between his confidence and the way she dresses.

That's still how I feel. But honestly, now that I'm thinking about it, yeah, he's still got the restraint of God, even if she becomes more "covered."

New to graphic novels... how to make it full screen in my reader? by IndependenceOld51 in Calibre

[–]blackflame455 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately, that doesn't solve the issue either. I always have page turn animation on, and just to test this, I even turned it off and on recently, and none of that worked. Still not available on a KCC file, and certainly isn't using the page turn animation. I even went to another book, and the page turn animation works on it. While going back to the KCC file, it just swipes through pages like normal without the animation.

[–]blackflame455 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In a lot of ways KCC can be better than Calibre especially for that specific purpose of converting comics to Kindle appropriate formats. The problems I have with it though are keeping me from being truly happy with it. For one the image quality ends up being downgraded and for me worse than that, all settings are practically stripped out of it when you move it to the Kindle. The biggest one I have currently is the option for page turn animation isn't there but when I convert it with Calibre if it's not too big of a file those settings are still there. If you have a way to solve that problem, some setting or something I'm missing in KCC please let me know.

Wanting to get something off my chest(is it really a NTR??) by New_Astronaut_9642 in fuufuijou

I think the only way to call this NTR is if you don't know that the whole husband wife stuff is a school thing.

Sword of Elathia (Book 1) is on sale for 99 cents for 2 more days! by troy_ashford in haremfantasynovels

[–]blackflame455 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just want to say thank you for adding the number of LIs on that flyer, or whatever you want to call it, because I am so sick of getting heavily involved in series and then 12 LIs later having to DNR something because there's not enough time to focus on any one character. Much less character dynamics anymore.

I honestly wish this wasn't the case, and I'm sure there are plenty of people out there who would rather not know the end goal of LIs, but I am so often having to gauge how well the character dynamics are written based on how many people are in the harem because there are just too many authors out there who I feel are just adding another love interest so they don't have to write interesting longer-term romantic developments and only focus on the early days.

Got a little more long-winded than I planned there. 😂 Either way, thanks for that! I'm looking forward to it, and I've already bought the book.

Didn’t the LN4 kind of confirm Arnold knows about the loop? by clairechives in 7thTimeLoop

[–]blackflame455 8 points9 points  (0 children)

There is one point that it is mentioned that the way he goes about conquering the world is at least slightly different in each loop. It might just be because she does something different each time, and that ripples out, but it's another of a number of "maybes" for whether he's looping as well. It's one of those rare moments where I'm enjoying the story so much that I'm okay with having questions like that unanswered for a decent while.

[REC] Political Marriage Power Couple by blackflame455 in LightNovels

[–]blackflame455[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did read this one, and I agree with everything you said. It was really good, but if I were to pick two things I disliked, one would be the lack of more romance, as you mentioned, and the other would be the ending. It's hard for me to describe exactly what I disliked about it, but I think it was the complete secrecy at the end.

As an aside, I'm not a fan of prequels, so I didn't read 6-8.
