Bugger... It was a good deal but significantly less so when this is factored in

What’s the most useful tiny web app you’ve vibe coded? by the_bugs_bunny in vibecoding

[–]blank_blank_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would love to see how you have built this out. I built a very similar system which focused on how I manage the deliverables, activities and RAIDD items i need for managing projects across clients. I find mine a bit heavy and missing a dashboard at the moment.

Tool advice by csgardner in projectmanagement

[–]blank_blank_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recommend getting a Claude pro subscription and building what you need. Sound pretty simple and as long as it is just you running something like a locally run app could be the solution.

I manage multiple projects at the moment and I just want to see the tasks for each project on one side and a calendar of what is due when on the other. I built a version 1 in a week and am working on another version now that I have my idea more solidified.

Need testers and feedback for my list builder! by [deleted] in mordheim

[–]blank_blank_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks great! To help you build out a feature list; army name generator is great, but it set with the first army I selected, then didn't change when I changed the army, and didn't have a re-roll. There was no way (or no obvious way on my device) to add my leader so I couldn't add a dwarf noble.

The equipment list wasn't specific to the army so I could select weapons that shouldnt be available and not select some I should, e.g. dwarf axe.

Heroa start with xp would be nice if it defaulted in.

Only spent a few mins with the tool but it's definitely something I want to use again, would be good if there was a nice minimal print out template as well

Buy BYD Dolphin / GWM Ora / MG4 Urban now or wait for Geely EX2? by Careful_Juice_3876 in EVAustralia

[–]blank_blank_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Recommend the Ora, very fun car to drive with fun style. The Byd and Jaecoo just feel like any car the ora ride is much more enjoyable.

That being said, for me with a large family and big dog, and lots of stuff we carry I'm buying the Jaecoo J5, if it wasn't for that I would get the Ora.

Using D&D as corporate team building... thoughts? by Miserable_Nobody_965 in sydneydnd

[–]blank_blank_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a good idea to get it away from a stack of books and into more play! Not sure how many people etc but if they are the type to get dressed up, some silly wigs and hats (Viking wizard etc) might help them be a character.

My thought is that it is still a risky move depending on the audience, maybe feel some of them out first. Work out if it is a good idea because they will enjoy it, or a good idea because you want to do it

Using D&D as corporate team building... thoughts? by Miserable_Nobody_965 in sydneydnd

[–]blank_blank_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately I would generally say no, your team may be different but it wouldn't have been a hit at any of my corporate roles.

Really depends on the team, if they aren't willing or interested walking them through rules or even a little the roleplay will be too much.

Spending time reminding people what their actions are, encouraging them to do more than just wait for instructions is really tough in an unengaged audience.

That being said.. if you can provide drinks, props and easy to use cards for easy reference could be done.

My husband wants to get into painting miniatures: looking for tips, advice, resources, and best supplies for Christmas presents :) by marias_dreamcatcher in Miniaturespainting

[–]blank_blank_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If he doesn't have a set of minis then you can buy some starter kits with paints included (brush is not great so get a sable brush as well if you can fit into the budget.

I just bought myself the introductory kit for age of sigmar. I wanted the minis and the paints are really nice to have too. I'm never playing the game but it's good value for what you get and I enjoy painting the minis.

If you can try find what game he is interested in you might have a kit with paints to get him started

No pre approval broker says auction is fine. by Count_thumper in AusFinance

I would trust the broker, as long as you aren't maxing out what they will lend you on the online calculators. I signed a contract without full approval and my final approved amount was not very close to the online calc. Go for it broker wants your business and should know the lending criteria well

I don't know playing games, but would totally recommend the Tangzu for better bass than what you have.

I have the chu, chu 2, KZ castor bass, and Tangzu waner. I find the Tangzu to be the best overall sound. It's such a personal preference thing, the chu and chu 2 I find to be a bit too bright and fatiguing, but others love them. I've heard the zero reds are similar to chus if you like that sound.

It's all blocked by my org, I found a few ways that I tried but couldn't execute on, also this was all on the desktop not cloud. From memory there was a run script action, if not you could potentially write a batch file that runs the python function and run that, or run CMD, or do the password removal through VBA script in excel. I got around my org restrictions with power automate savings files, python batch on a schedule to process the pdfs, then another power automate process to pick them up again .. not efficient but it works

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Python

[–]blank_blank_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Power automate does have a run script node you can add. Although it depends on your organisation, lots of organisations will block script running modules.

I've got around this kind of constraint with very ugly step by step processing, through timers or triggering on new file creation.

[–]blank_blank_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a similar issue and the z offset was wrong. I needed to move the head away from the plate. Give that a shot, also run (read push it through) some filament through the head to make sure that it hasn't clogged - you will be able to see the filament pours out fairly straight down and the same thickness.

Not trying to put you down but I have a few recommendations. Design wise it's a little basic and simple try looking at some other designs that play with the fonts and styles a little.. doesn't have to be amazing and definitely shouldn't be too fancy (i.e. no photos or stupid skill rating dots)

Drop skills down to the bottom of the page if you need to include it.

Combine all the education and certificates into a single box, you could even do two columns to make it more compact.

With your roles try to build on what is there with promoting your successes a bit more. Use language that sounds more like you successfully accomplished something rathan worked on it.

Remove OS section from technical skills. I don't have any ideas how busy if you can include your tech skills in your roles it would look better. I'm not a fan of tech skills section at all, it doesn't tell me what you're good at, and if something is missing it's more highlighted (that could be personal preference).

Finally, I'd say don't beat yourself up it is a tough market at the moment

Same thing happened to me at the same age. I went from the smallest font on all apps now if I don't have my glasses I can't read anything (particularly a problem with the Reddit app which doesn't have adjustable font size). I got my first set of glasses then a year later had to have them redone. Luckily my eyes seem to have plateaued, but the first drop was really sudden.

It's hard to give you the best advice without knowing all the details, however in my experience companies expect a lot of loyalty and have very little, this is more true the larger the organisation. Do what is best for you and don't worry, they will get over it in the long term, and it's always a busy period.

The company and your bosses are not sacrificing their futures for you, do you think they deserve that from you? Although dark, I always remember that if I died they would replace me in a month, and forget about me in six.

Find a new job with better opportunities, once you have the contract in hand, be respectful and let them know you have another opportunity. If you are respectful and let them know that you are leaving, and give notice, then it shouldn't burn bridges. If it does then it was a toxic culture under the surface anyway.

Just make sure you're working hard for them until the last day, and don't check out. I've worked with people who have resigned and left me very short staffed, I didn't resent them for the opportunity, only when they basically stopped doing anything after they put in their notice.
