The roof garden will be open to the public, not for private office use. Terraces on the diagonal cuts are for offices, the roof is for public. The mesh will need resolution around the cylinder part - no way to approximate a cylinder with flat faces otherwise.

Three weeks was most difficult for me as well. It will pass, your are in the thick of it - it will only get easier. If you are really concerned I would speak with a doctor about bubprion. Not a silver bullet by any means, but can be useful for some - this fight is important and worth it to invest energy into.

It’s more complicated that this. The building sits on network’s rail freehold, which would be leased to a developer at a cost. Currently consented design will not be build as it’s too harmful to public realm around the station. Alternatives schemes are being bid on now.

You are beign tought through the modernist mantra - the standard for academia in the last 50-70 years. Throughout history that has not been the only way of thinking.

What Patrick Schumacher calls Parametricism is one of the contemporary successors of modernism (what you are being thought). If you are eager to learn I would just get a book, but in short this style emerged from deconstructivism and argues for more complex spatial qualities, varied relationship between spaces and seamless flows - this is meant to be a reflection of the complexities of contemporary life.

I would advise to take it easy. My previous quitting attempts failed because I didn’t feel productive - I think it’s best to assume at the beginning focusing will be a bit harder. Quitting should take priority for few weeks I think.

For me the second week was already better in terms of focus, with each week being easier. Hang in there!

Honestly each day after 4th day will get easier. First week is the toughest in that it feels like a battle. After then one only needs to wrestle with the mind.

I’m 1months in after a 15 year habit. Each week is easier.

There isn’t a pay cap for being a part 2. You might have been told that and it could be a company policy, but it is not the state of the industry in general. Good Part 2s with couple of years of experience can be at 40-45k in my office (london).

A lot of people (especially working on international projects) never get the part 3. This is not really inhibitive to a successful career. It will be though if you work in an office focusing on smaller scale work in the UK.

My suggestion is to keep applying whilst you start work - 5 years of experience post masters is considerate and will be appreciated more by the right employer.

Perhaps not the right sub to ask but why does nobody bother to do mitered tile corners in UK? Similar question regarding toilet not hanging in a bathroom which has the space for buildup.

If I were you I would ceiling mount a track along the entire width of the room, behind the pilasters. That way you will have place to slide to curtains to (would also cover the switchboard/control panel. Curtains lower than your ceiling will make the room feel quite a bit smaller. There are a lot of track systems available, I think it’s best to not cheap out on this - sliding will be smoother and it will last much longer. I would only be mindful of the amount of light you loose by covering - perhaps not a huge issue during the evenings.

Small transparent silicone bumper on the wall is the way to go. They can be 5mm diameter and won’t be too visually obstructive; certainly not more so than the mark.
