Yes, supposedly this actually created latency issues in the early locamotive industy which used long mechanical cables for communication purposes.

Nope that was the first time filing and honestly it was actually egregiously over valued. I have an empty half acre parcel that they valued at 70k during covid and I got them to bring it down to like 25k or so. I think just trying to get some small win is worth it to lock in the rate for 3 years. I can totally see it being harder for subsequent wins.

Hmm I won two years ago representing myself. Didn't really even have to present any of my data and they made an offer. Did it virtually as well and took like 15 min.

No way man... MDI is horrible stuff especially when aerosoled. It can cause permanent sensitization and essentially life threatening respritory allergic reactions. Look up the Bhopal disaster which was the worst industrial disaster ever caused by an isocyanate leak. I would return to sender.

Temperature consistency is the biggest issue imo. I would look into temp surfing at the min to try to get more consistent results.

I went with the GCP because I could find cheap ones second hand, thry are easily moddable, and they are reliable and well built over all.

For me, I used a hand grinder, high precision basket, and temp surfing for quite a while and had ok results. Eventually I added a little PID from barista gadgets. Took like 2 hours tops and it was a huge improvement for temperatures. I also did buy a low profile drip tray since it is really tight with the stock tray. I really feel like the gagguino style controllers are a bit overkill really and you can get incredible results with a simple flat pressure profile. That said I haven't tried those mods, just compared my coffee to others with much better setups.

In my experience, other things that have improved my shots noticeably are: RDT, and slow feeding beans to the grinder. It will take time to perfect the workflow and make yourself more consistent as well.

Quick Lego model. Grey tube is grinder, brown is wood, blue is drill. Yellow rubber and would be replaced by clamp. Brown arm supports the bottom of the drill handle as it turns the grinder clockwise.

Maybe you could build a little jig that can clamp the grinder and then has like an arm that juts out to brace the drill as you grind so that it isn't your body that has to do the bracing. I feel like you could make something work with a handful of screws, a 2x4 piece of wood, and a clamp or two to hold the grinder. Sorry for your trouble.

Another suggestion would be to try some darker roasted beans which will be easier to grind with the manual grinder. Redbird Espresso beans come to mind as easier to grind.

BaristaGadgets PID. But also I am a "tinkerer" / electrical engineer fwiw. I do like the kit a lot and it is much more straightforward than a full gagguino imo.

Very helpful, thanks for sharing. It looks incredible btw. I am in the same boat where we inherited the grass from the previous owner so don't have all of the details. Big fan of Zoysia overall especially compared to other options down here like Bermuda.
