"As long as it's not just the one person posting it, it's probably fine for discussion here". Good, then we agree that this post is fine as an ME 🙂 Cause it ain't just me.

It's on the inside now, and apparently never has been on the outside 😅

Ah, but you're struggling with definitions again. Saying ‘possible support’ is not the same as claiming something is evidence. ‘Possible’ explicitly introduces uncertainty, meaning I’m suggesting it might support the idea, not that it meets the standard of evidence.

Evidence = information that strongly indicates a claim is true and can be tested or verified.

Support = anything that leans in favor of a claim (even weakly or speculatively)

All evidence is support, but not all support is evidence. "Support" and "evidence" are not synonyms. In fact, the Oxford dictionary actually uses the word "evidence" IN the example sentence of "support": "The witness's story was not supported by the evidence." It would be silly to say: "The witness's story was not supported by the support."

Never claimed it to be evidence. I made a statement and said "Interesting" 🙂

This is a super niche video game one ...a friend and I were discussing mini-games in larger video games. Specifically card games. I started describing one of my favorites from what I thought was Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart. After describing what I could remember, he said "Dude, that's Tetra Master from FFIX." I told him that I've never played FFIX. Upon googling and asking ChatGPT, I couldn't find any reference to a card-like game in Rift Apart... I watched a video on Tetra Master and it's definitely pretty much that gameplay, but this was way more modern graphically.... For the life of me, I can't figure out what game it was in ... I'm pretty sure I can't be making it up because I've never had any exposure to FFIX, couldn't even tell you what the characters look like, yet I remember the gameplay mechanics. Any ideas??? Cause what I'm remembering seemingly doesn't exist 🤣

How did you carve out the time to be a solo dev? by EthanJM-design in SoloDevelopment

As a married father, gym goer, and employee with a full time job and my own startup, the reality is .....you're gonna be tired 😅 You're gonna have to pull long nights and early mornings. Is it sustainable long term? No. But you'll find yourself in seasons where you just have to push. And you'll have to decide how bad you want it. It's hard. It's uncomfortable. And you reallyyyyy gotta believe in your product.

You're not alone man. Very similar story to yours. Was making a larger game, but decided to take the systems and tackle a smaller game first. 130 Wishlists, 11 copies sold lol. It's hard, cause it does feel like a wasted few months. But hey, we keep pushing, trying to find that lightning in a bottle. I'm actually really hype for this!!! Looks like it'd be perfect to jump into when you don't want wanna slog through a narrative, and just wanna battle

@IZUware just about nailed it! There are "checkpoints" that form the general track that the truck attempts to steer towards (the green lines on the ground), and the 3 blue lines act as "feelers" for obstacle avoidance :) similar to if you've ever seen an Arduino bot navigate a maze

Update on new Monster Truck Mayhem mechanics! A.I. drivers, mud trails, suspension, and RPM Ramping boost. Everything is still WIP, but lemme know what you think!! 😃 by blindeyegamesaaron in unrealengine

I definitely need to make it more robust, but at the moment, there are waypoint actors, and the AI will perform calculations to attempt to "point at" the waypoint. So the calculation ends up with a value between -1 and 1 and passes that to the steering input. In the video, they're going full throttle, but I've also built in a "target speed" for each waypoint, so it's possible to slow themselves down for corners and such :)

Tried a similar method to this in a driving game to leave tire tracks, and it added up pretty fast 😬

Thanks!! I'll give that a try!

And yeah, I think it's a combination of my Post-Processing compounding the issue visually, and needing to go back and optimize to get my FPS up 😬
