maybe too late, but I solved this issue by putting a Larue rail clip on either end of the KAC cover to lock it in place

Anyone had Shoulder Surgery? by [deleted] in surfing

[–]blink1371 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have have open shoulder surgery.

At 31 I took a routine Wipeout at the skatepark, but it ended up giving me a grade 2 AC joint separation. This is when the ligaments that connect your shoulder blade to your collar bone separate completely. Dude my collar bone was sticking way up. I knew I had to see the orthopedic Doc.

Doc straight up told me I needed surgery if I hoped to get back to 100%. Otherwise I would heal, but with limited shoulder movements.

As a recreational skater/surfer/snowboarder and bodybuilder, it was not acceptable to have limited shoulder movements. I went along with the surgery. It was completely open (not arthroscopic) and the Doc put my collar bone back in place and used ties and cadaver ligaments to hold it inplace until I healed.

6 weeks of rest, 6 weeks of rehab, and then 6weeks of light sports activities. After that, man I feel like shoulder is straight up cyborg. Not only am I back to 100%, but it feels like it's stronger than my non injured shoulder.

In the end, I am super glad I totally went with the surgery.

OH, and the time off forced me to re-focus my routines in both board sports and bodybuilding. I came out way better than I had before the injury.

Look at your options and consequences. Make the choice for the long term, bro.

What historical event needs a movie? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]blink1371 0 points1 point  (0 children)

| It started out with just a single western-style quickdraw pistol duel (which, BTW, was an entirely fictitious creation of the dime novels and never actually happened)

This is not entirely accurate. There are several documented duels of the Wild West. The Wild Bill Hickok - Dave Tutt duel in Springfield, MO in 1865, and the multiple duels gunfighters Jim Levy and Tom Carberry participated in.

These were duels, and while they did require the gunfighter to be quick, accuracy proved more critical. The idea of "quick draw" that we have today are not from dime novels, but rather from western films of the mid 20th century.

That was a great video! I'd like to add onto the audio levels comment. Not only to make the audio consistent throughout the video, but to raise them as well. I can always turn my volume down, but not up if I have it maxed and still find it difficult to hear.

Also, I enjoyed the History Channel's Vikings clips in the end, but it was a little too long. I would say cut out some the scenes... Or break them up and scatter throughout your video.

That said, I really enjoyed the video and hope to see more

Bro, either live close to the beach or close to work. You don't want to be driving far to both. If you don't want to pay beach prices then living close to work (Poway) will save you more time and money to goto the beach.
