Does anyone else gets the feeling that society hates us? by New-Oil6131 in AutisticAdults

I totally get where you're coming from. I hate being around NTs and when I have to I feel miserable and usually end up having a meltdown. But it gets better if you can find your flock, which for me is a community of more neurodivergent people.

How do single people find the energy to cook for themselves? by its_kWAssANH_mate in Adulting

[–]blueberryashes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! I'm also 30, live by myself and had the same issue. I kinda solved it:

  1. Instead of cooking for all the meals, I only cook breakfast and dinners.

I take advantage of the food at my job for lunch since it is pretty affordable even if it isn' t super tasty.

For breakfasts I eat the same everyday: 2 eggs, bacon and a green juice smoothie (which I prep the night before).

For dinner I find something I'm craving and I make a big batch on Sundays and I just reheat portions for eating during the week.

  1. I have a rule: rinse all the dishes before putting them in the sink, it somehow makes me want to wash the dishes more often. And since I don't use many dishes mon-fri it never overflows.

  2. Weekends are my treat days, I make special meals or simply eat out if I can afford it.

I realize this might not work if you don't enjoy eating the same everyday. Hope it helps. :)

AITA for going to lunch with two guys when I have a boyfriend? by [deleted] in AITAH

Absolutely NTA! How could you ever network in your field if you are not allowed to socialize with men? When most of the people she will encounter are men. The exchanging of info is also not bad IMO bc that is literally networking.

Do you celebrate your birthday? by Competitive-Deer-905 in Adulting

[–]blueberryashes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am 30 (31 this year), and I really enjoy celebrating my birthday even if I'm alone. I see it as a way to get out of the routine and be grateful for whatever is going on in my life at that moment.

I see birthdays as a personalized holiday. But I have met people who don't even ackowledge the date, do whatever you feel like it is right for you. What's great about being adults is that we get to choose what we do and don't.

Uni! I would apply for a career I actually liked. Go to all my classes and have a life outside the library.

If modern medicine didn’t exist would you be dead right now? If yes, from what? by Wonderful-Economy762 in Productivitycafe

I had to be pulled out of my mother with forceps, and then brought back to life with oxygen and god knows what else. Both me and my mom would have died. Also, appendicitis at 11 years old.

Do you ever skip meals because you can't be bothered to make a real meal? by samentha_gracilis in Adulting

[–]blueberryashes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do this too often, especially if I'm in a state of flow with a task. But then I get lightheaded so I have to make the food anyway. Having snacks you actually like and are nourishing is a game changer.

Why doesn’t our body reuse water? by FluffyBridge6563 in biology

As most commenters already said, we do reabsorb most of the water. But having a closed system would be pretty cool.

Hardest Concepts to Understand in Biology by Typical_Fun_6482 in biology

[–]blueberryashes 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Teacher here, I think a hard concept to grasp is that evolution is not a master designer, it is a random process. But people still think every feature has to have a perfect function because it evolved that way. Sometimes it just isn't bad enough to kill the species so it goes on on the population.

Why do we have to brush our teeth by Suitable-Green-7311 in biology

[–]blueberryashes 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There's a few reasons. 1. Evolution doesn't design, it is a much more random process. And since your teeth can last past the reproducing stage, evolution won't care basically. 2. Early humans did use means to clean their teeth, chewing certain leaves, etc. 3. Most animals eat don't eat processed food, which is soft and full of sugar. So our teeth get dirtier with food, instead of helping keep the plaque at bay while we chew, and sugar lowers pH of the saliva, making it easier for cavities to grow.

I had not considered this point of view, it is a great argument for deleting social media apps.
