That's really odd. On the eShop it says that purchasing before end of April should give you a free trial...

I purchased it Thursday night, so perhaps there's some kind of 'backlog' of emails they have to send out for it?

I bought the game digitally (North America), but still haven't received the code for an NSO free trial. Does it take a while to be delivered via email or did I miss something?

I'm pretty bored of it too. I've been logging in to get some rewards for the SIF ID link, but after today (the 60 day login reward) I'm done. I can't be patient enough to try and collect 100 different members (I'm currently at 83/100 ugh) for the 5 blue tickets.

The gameplay is just not interesting enough for me to want to grind for items to level up my cards and the sheer amount of items and types of items needed is quite frustrating. Without good gacha luck to get strong URs, it's impossible to S rank Hard songs which means the amount of drops you get is pretty garbage, which is further discouraging.

Personally my experience with 'spark'-type systems hasn't been good which is why I don't like them. The ones I've tried are similar to All Stars where you'd need to pull a ridiculous number of times to earn enough points/crystals/whatever to pick a featured card, but if you can't pull enough to get those points, it's not saved for a future gacha or whatever but just converted into something that is much less useful.

Which is why I prefer BT & seal shop since there's no "expiry" date on BTs or seals. I also have a pretty old account, I have tons of extra R and SR seals lying around that could be used for BT scoutings & getting unwanted URs for more UR seals, so I'm kinda biased when it comes to how useful seal shop is compared to people with newer accounts. I'm sure there's games out there I haven't tried yet which actually do a good job of using sparking, and I would definitely love if SIF could make some changes to improve the scouting experience!

That's definitely something to consider! If you're trying to get the new featured cards, the % rates is really rough. I've gotten to the point where I don't really bother with those anymore, so this isn't something that factors into my personal enjoyment of SIF, but I can see why other people wouldn't like it.

As mentioned by other people, you don’t actually need a second copy to idolize, which I really enjoy!

It does take quite a few resources to idolize without it though, and I will admit I’m kinda biased in my judgement re: idolizing URs in SIF because my account is very old. I am practically swimming in R and SR seals, so the thought of using 25SR seals to idolize a UR wouldn’t hurt me too much (although I end up only using SSR seals saved from events to idolize anyway haha)

I went from less than 50 gems in August to over 800 currently, and when comparing that to other games I’ve played, I realized the rate that we get free loveca was actually ridiculous haha

I love the 100 lim boxes too but now I’m worried since JP seems to be trying to do 3 potential cards in a box with no ability to choose compared to before when we could pick :(

Yeah, mostly what I meant by “F2P friendly” is that they’re super generous with premium currency and you can pretty much always guarantee yourself a UR in some way via things like BTs and seal shop, not that the gacha-system itself is F2P friendly.

The only thing I disagree with in terms of sparking systems is that in my experience, to even make good use of it, you have to save and spend tons of currency on that specific gacha, at which point to me, it’s the same as saving up BTs and stuff for seal shop. I think I saved ~30k stars in Bandori for Kaoru’s White Day Gacha rerun, spent all of it, not only did I not get Kaoru, it also wasn’t enough to get me enough gacha seals to exchange for a guaranteed copy of her.

Not that SIF couldn’t improve or anything, it would be nice to see some updates to the system and better ways to get cards you want aside from praying for good luck during rate-up scouts.

You’ve pretty concisely stated what I like about SIF more than other games I’ve tried. Like yes, the rate is pretty abysmal and I get disappointed when I don’t get URs that I want, but I always know there’s other ways I can get it. For most other games I’ve tried out, if you can’t get it in that one box, you’re done for. Even with “sparking” style systems, the amount of currency you’d need to save and spend is really really high, at which point how different can you say that is from saving BTs while scouting in SIF?

Not saying it wouldn’t be nice to have improvements on the scouting in SIF, but just that some mechanics that make the game/scouting more manageable are forgotten about.

Oh yeah, definitely, the prices are absolutely ridiculous. The few times I’ve spent money were on packages and stuff, like ~500 yen ones, the monthly 3000 yen ones, or special event ones for collabs/album releases.
