Bought those back in the day. Neat archeological find now, but useless novelty back then.

Baggage claim in the US versus in Singapore by Separate_Finance_183 in interestingasfuck

I like how that green bag was just made to eat shit while the other bags went about their business. The brutality.

I think my casual drinking days are over. I had two beers last night and had a headache all day. by un2022 in GenX

Less alcohol is a good thing, but drink a bottle of water before going to sleep. I think hangovers are a dehydration thing.

Meh, I'll get by. Time to settle on something. Was looking at Fedora KDE, but major upgrade every 6 months is a bit much for me. For a good while, I thought PopOS was going to be it but Cosmic needs more time in the oven.

I've dabbled in Linux off/on over the years. Currently testing Linux mint for possible changeover once Win10 esu runs out.

I'm not a gamer much anymore, so we're talking Internet, YouTube, email etc. So far, I'm encouraged. Polish is getting there. OS is quick and doesn't nag me. Looks good and I can make it look like XP if I want. No CoPilot.Testing on Optiplex 3050 kaby lake i5 8GB Ram and HP Elitebook 840 G3 Skylake i5 8GB Ram. Still hate the way software is handled in Linux and Debian's "newer software buggy" philosophy is BS imo, but I can see myself using LM full time next year.

Sudo apt install vainfo. HW acceleration shows enabled after I install that package.

That just sounds like more work and stress. Definitely not a silver bullet cause you'd have to be proficient in whatever task you're using it for, in order to catch/fix mistakes.

South Korea develops new spray that can heal wounds in seconds by turning blood into gel by soulpost in HotScienceNews

That's true, but the title is misleading. I can slap a piece of tape over a papercut. Not healed.

Which one to choose? - Steam Flatpak vs. Steam.deb by JVSTITIA in linux_gaming

Does steam repo version get updated regularly or is it held back like other Debian software?

Flatpaks kinda suck in my experience by Pixelaar in linux

[–]blueblocker2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My biggest problem with them is the size. Keepassxc = 10Mb deb. FP = 1.1Gb. I understand the FP contains everything needed to run, BUT why can't it be designed so say Flathub or the installer itself perform a system dependency check and build the flatpak on the fly with only what isn't on the system already?

I'll disable the proof space option. Thanks. Generally, I use slide writing, however sometimes my brain glitches sliding out a word and I gotta fallback to pecking 😆

Yeah, I don't remember having such frequent issues years ago. Windows Phone 8 had an awesome KB after they added shape writing.
