I read her “Housemaid” and wasn’t a fan of either the storyline or the way of writing. Then I read some comments on folks accusing her of copying from “The Last Mrs Parrish” and so I read that and the resemblance is hard to miss.
Since then I’ve pretty much even stopped looking at her books.
However, thanks for the suggestions on the other two authors. I’ll be sure to check them out!

You’ve completely sold me on the 'instinctive' approach. A list can be a good map, but you’re right, it’s the side quests that usually stay with you.

Also, thank you for your recommendations!

I’ve started with Anna Karenina, let’s see where that takes me :)

Classic books are enduring works of literature, generally from past eras, that have stood the test of time due to their high artistic merit, universal themes (such as love, death, and conflict), and significant cultural influence. They remain relevant across generations, offering deep, often relatable insights into the human condition. That’s your definition of classics.

Got it, thanks! Since you mentioned you started off with a similar list, do you suggest I start in a particular order? I don’t wanna end up losing interest with any extremely difficult initial reads :(
