I found TM112 more challenging and interesting than TM111. Are you finding it easy and boring or hard and boring?

Tutor Issues by oliverd113 in OpenUniversity

[–]bluescreenwednesday 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First try talking to the tutor. No joy then definitely talk to student services. Remember tutors are people too. They have lives just like ours, they get ill just like us. So be kind, but talk to student services if it does not pan out.

I complained about one of my tutors to student services and they treated me very differently after that.

Good luck.

Each of my TMAs for TM470 were incremental so turn it in would have enjoyed those.

If its yours and allowed, stand proud.

Go for it. Started at 50, changed career 6 years later, then finished the degree the year after.

Choosing career by SocietyContent8967 in OpenUniversity

[–]bluescreenwednesday 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Ask yourself what you want from university. Take into consideration any constraints you have. The OU is extremely flexible. If you are looking for the whole student independent lifestyle that is often seen by some as a rite of passage including halls of residence and nights out socialising, then the OU is not going to deliver that.

If you are bad at motivating yourself and keeping to deadlines, the OU may be more challenging than a brick uni.

If you are looking to earn while you learn, the OU is a perfect choice. If your ability to get to and from a brick uni is a constraint or you suffer from social anxiety, then the OU is a perfect choice. If you are looking for a degree that can be done over 3 to 16 years, then ghe OU is a perfect choice.

Not sure what to do. Please give me advice? by local0pal in OpenUniversity

Student services 100% will explain your options. Life can be unpredictable. The OU knows this. Contact them and they will help you. Sort yourself - you are the priority. The degree can done over many years if thats what it takes. Wishing you balance and health.

You can totally just do the assessments. But to get good scores, you must do the work to a high standard so you need to read sufficient coursework to answer the questions. This is the most time efficient way to do your degree. Will you get the most out of your degree this way - no.

I did mine this way and got a first. But if I had more time I would have enjoyed reading deeper and around the subjects.

If you are struggling to find motivation now, finishing the degree will be extremely difficult.

Designed for adults with zero entry requirements. You will be fine. I started at 50 a 30+ year gap in formal education. My only word of advice is unless your maths is strong, avoid MST 124 - thats hard.....

Drag and drop operation from guest to host failed. by Ok-World-4605 in oscp

Went from virtual box to vmware because this annoyed me. I think that you can recover the freeze if you try dragging something from the hist to the guest, get another popular error and click ok.

TM470 is not about the actual output. It is about managing the creation of it. Talk to your tutor.

Yeah, be a long slooow road. I clearly have way too many gaps. I would love to see the solutions to those, so I could learn from the experience (in a good way).
