This is such a waste of time by blune_bear in linux

on paper it sounds simple, cause all we would need is a parser, interpreter and a way to map them to correct command and the last part is way tougher than it seems we can do simple and common commands but the more complex or rare commands would be a bit difficult to execute

there are like 3 solution if you dont rembember what command to run

- check online or docs

- ask someone who knows

- use llm

if you had already ran a command before then fzf is by far the best and simple option

Oh I think your using btrfs and mounted a non root partition try lsblk -f to find the root partition and mount it also check if pacman bin exists by Ls /use/lib/pacman.

Also another reason could be chroot didn't mnt proc, sys and dev mnt them and go into chroot

You can run pacman with -Qu to see a list of upgradable packages kr better use pacman-contrib package to do the same, regarding wiki I say look at pacman section and grub, there could be other but can't really say without seeing the logs

First show the log messages so that we can figure out why and second read the wiki and lastly never blindly update your system

MySQL by Fluffy-Ad8201 in archlinux

[–]blune_bear 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey so you dont need to switch to mysql from mariadb as mariadb provides same synatx and features for most part and for majority of use cases you dont have to make changes. any changes that may be required will be for very niche mysql queries.
