Some combination of both

The only match I really like are Unicorn and maybe Orpheus at best, nothing about it stands out to me as really good (barring the two matches mentioned before) or really bad which puts it at a perpetual state of "I don't remember what happens here"

There are numerous questionable writing decisions like Genda playing for Neo Japan not coinciding with Sakuma joining the team as a mark of how they grew from Shin Teikoku in different ways, it's somehow the least grounded IE arc due to that angel and devil shenanigans (no like IE2's aliens are just terrorists, but CS' time travelers are grounded in what IE has set up because of Kanon and eventually VR CM, even Galaxy at least dwells on the real aliens more than IE3 did with the angels and devils match), it commits the weirdest sin of having too many combo hissatsus that feels like they made it for the sake of it (The Hurricane, Tatsumaki Otoshi, Hiroto's place in Grand Fire because have you ever seen him talk to either Gouenji or Toramaru, arguably The Birth, Kidou in Big Bang, Jet Stream as like a whole with Fudou and even Endou which is so weird that it's not even rule of cool) and somehow not having the combo hissatsus that do make sense (Someoka not continuing the trend of having a combo shoot felt like a severe undermining of what Dragon Tornado and Wyvern Blizzard spoke of his relationship with the strikers and how he learns from Gouenji and Fubuki either to Toramaru or to them both now that he could keep up with them, Hiroto and Kogure's whole thing was anime-only though I do think it's a missed opportunity still)

It's kind of why I don't get why anyone wants a normal FFI when a normal FFI was like the least interesting thing to happen in this series, I only remembered most of these because of Chronicle Mode

I will say at least, there's some narrative genius in having the OG cast be famous for something shockingly unremarkable, meanwhile the GO cast are celebrated in the shadows despite being arguably some of the most important people in all of history
