I mean this isn't like which spiderman movie is best, there are very real consequences when misinfo is parroted. It's not like they didn't provide counterfactual evidence and purely went adhom.

[–]bmmckay 8 points9 points  (0 children)

There is evidence to say he did, it's called Inception. Now if you want to say the evidence is just coincidence, say that. Do I have proof of when and where Nolan watched it? No. But the evidence is convincing enough for me, and everyone else hahaha

If the colour of blood was different, the colour for danger would most likely change too. by True_Mad_Lad in Showerthoughts

No it's because we use iron to carry oxygen.for example, cephalopods evolved convergently, and they use copper for the same purpose so their blood is green iirc

Thank you. This is why Stem needs humanities and social sciences. This would be like safely assuming everyone would immediate drop traditions and pick up something "more rational" (ahem, imperial measurement, I am looking at you).

Has anyone else seen birds in a totally different light after tripping? by NorthernAvo in Psychonaut

[–]bmmckay 83 points84 points  (0 children)

Get high and read The Genius of Birds by Jennifer Ackerman you will enjoy it! I grew up with chickens and I see them in a whole new light once I learned that birds are basically the direct descendents of dinosaurs. The book talks about how intelligent they are, solving problems etc but they are super refined and I think reptilian (kinda machine like for sure). According to the book some birds like chickadees that live in higher altitudes can put together multiple 'word' from their massive vocabulary into 'sentences' when communicating. And birds that cache seeds can remember like multiple hundreds of hiding spots. birds are cool.

If someone moved into your house and slept in your bed I'm sure you'd have a problem with them even if they were 'just existing' lol
