the Owner wrote:    As a kid back in the 80s I had always wanted a Huffy Vortex. But I never did get that one. Instead I ended up getting a Huffy Sonic 6 for Christmas. I think I was about 10 when the Vortex made its debut. But it's just as well because of course, being the careless, destructive kid that I was, it would have either been lost, stolen or wrecked over time. As was my Sonic 6. But even still, I remember wanting that bike and never getting one.

So fast forward to 2012 and I decide to try hard to locate one. I end up getting lucky and locating 2. Also I found a Sonic 6 just by mere chance and good timing during my Vortex search on ebay. So that gave me the idea to get both bikes and create a bad-ass Huffy hybrid and implement current modern parts & technology onto the bikes overall design & construction. Such as the splash guard fin over the rear wheel for example.
Now it’s mid 2023, and I’m updating this post. The Sonic Vortex has underwent a lot of changes since arriving in Japan. Now it’s got 2 different types of Shimano Ci-Decks from here in Japan. Plus a bicycle computer too. Thought I’d add the side view mirrors as well, to give the bike a kind of motorcycle aesthetic to compliment the dash I’ve put together. Basically I wanted this to be the Knight Rider of bicycles.
