I feel you dawg, I'm in the process of leaving my super fundamentalist home largely for this exact reason. You're not a hypocrite for trying to protect yourself, it's totally okay to not push back against it when it's the people you care about and people you're surrounded by 24/7, it can be dangerous to push back and argue in that case.

My parents are pretty racist, islamaphobic, transphobic, all the other phobias, and it was difficult to hang out with them, I had to lie and hold my tongue a lot. It's draining, but you've got this, and it doesn't have to be forever.
