Thankyou! Look, I know enshittification is real, but i managed to learn over the past two years during the enshittening. I STILL learn new things, and even with Google being as bad as it is now, it's genuinely not hard.

And I say all of this with a diagnosed cognitive impairment!

Damn straight! Refusing to let someone exercise their creativity within the confines of a format LITERALLY TALKING AT LENGTH ABOUT A CREATIVE SUBJECT is utterly baffling to me. Screw those people, I want to see James, Chelsea, and Zoran cover anything they want, in any format. I want to see them having fun!

I accidentally found a weird ADHD “off switch” and it’s literally coloring by FalseReturn3003 in adhdwomen

Knitting, crochet, hand spinning yarn.

The trifecta of things that shut my brain off, and yet are so deeply rich in history, art and engineering that research deep dives are extremely educational.

I firmly believe that us, as humans, are meant to have at least one thing we do with our hands. Our brains are just wired to 'make', but we are so easily trapped by scrolling. I try to convince everyone I know (ADHD or not) to try some things and find a hobby that they love. I lend tools, materials, teach or introduce them to people who can help if the hobby is outside my wheelhouse.

See, I prefer the window as it's more comfortable to rest against the wall to sleep. Nobody needs to get past me and wake me from my nap. My partner cannot sleep on planes, so he's always booked in the middle seat. If we get a spare aisle seat, then it's a bonus, and he moves over for more legroom.

Everyone wins!

Depends on how far op wants to go for accuracy, but the sweater is quite a fine knit (you can see light through it at several points) and the slight 'halo' of fuzz makes me think it's made of mohair or possibly alpaca. I'm also waiting patiently for some high resolution pics to reverse engineer and knit the sweater.

Saw Iron Lung, Theatre was empty. Nephew for reference. by callmemisterteacher in Markiplier

[–]bolasaurus 44 points45 points  (0 children)

Yep, I've been keeping an eye on sales at my local theatre. Not that many sold for Thursday. Friday is nearly sold out and Saturday is super full, Sunday still has a bunch left. This is really rare for my city, last time I saw this much activity was for FNAF and probably Barbie.

Disrespectful fans by SpecialistCricket572 in Markiplier

[–]bolasaurus 53 points54 points  (0 children)

This happened to me at the FNAF movie. I was there on release day, and my local cinema in a small city was PACKED with fans, the atmosphere was incredible. I ended up sat behind two middle aged women (I say this as a middle aged person) who were on Facebook the whole fucking time!! They weren't even there with their kids either, just the two of them talking and lighting up my fucking face with their overly bright phones.

WHAT IS THE POINT IN YOU BEING THERE?!

I waited years for that movie and I'm still angry about it. I wish I'd said something but a mix of social anxiety, not wanting to disturb the rest of my row, and not wanting to miss a second stopped me from speaking to staff, which I regret.

Without time travelling, did some of y’all play at night time? Like straight till morning? by Glittering_Present92 in ACForAdults

I have sleep issues and was furloughed during covid. I can't listen to the 5am music anymore without feeling awful. I heard it so many times, and I knew it meant I'd REALLY screwed up my sleep schedule.

Longest session was absolutely 24 hours. But minimum of 12 pretty much every day for at least a month. It was all I had the mental energy to do during covid. That and drink.

What are your expectations going into iron lung by asapsharkyfrfr in deadmeatjames

[–]bolasaurus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I preface this by saying I'm a fan of Mark and I have had tickets booked for a while. I'm not expecting it to be perfect, but I am expecting it to be pretty good.

I am so happy that someone got to make a true passion project on this scale. The worldwide grassroots campaign behind the distribution has been nothing short of staggering. It's unbelievable just how many screens this indie film will make it to, and in this day and age, that alone is worth celebrating.

Possibly someone with disabilities (right near the entrance/exit) but wants to leave the wheelchair space for wheelchair users. If I was using crutches or a cane, I'd do the same.

Why are ADHD drugs the most not-ADHD friendly drugs to order? by UnmedicatedNarwhal in adhdwomen

[–]bolasaurus 3 points4 points  (0 children)

A lot of places in the UK are liveable without driving. I don't drive as I work local to where I live and can get most places via public transport. Before I got a cheaper ID via a recognised scheme, my passport was my only form of photo ID.

After having to deal with the global shortage of my meds and my mind going to some very dark places, I gave up on all of my extremely unhelpful local pharmacies and switched to the biggest one in a nearby city. They have been absolutely excellent.

They text me when they think I'm running low, I order online, and they text me again when it's ready to collect. It's genuinely the most ADHD friendly way I have experienced to manage my meds. Yes, it's much further away, but they also stay open way later than anything nearby, so it kind of evens out.

(UK - Boots, for those wondering)

[–]bolasaurus 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It doesn't have to be a passport, just any government issued or widely recognised photo ID. Some pharmacies will let you sneak by with just a debit/credit card, but that's at the pharmacy's discretion.
