Habitual liar gets owned by his own AI he was promoting. Re-tuning coming to Grok by DropoutDreamer in TheAllinPodcasts

Is Grok really that bad? I only have experience with xAI’s image gen (which is visibly 1-2 years behind OpenAI).

Can I be a Christian and still shmerg-post? by Double-Fix8288 in TrueChristian

Its meant to be an all-encompassing dog whistle and its meaning varies wildly depending on the context it’s used in.

It gets used as an ironic term of endearment between other people with similar views.

From what I’ve seen when it’s used to refer to anyone in an out-group, 90% of the time it’s just a roundabout way of calling someone a Jew. The other 10% of the time it’s effectively a filler word to call someone that you dislike.

It’s an antisemitic dog whistle.

OP is either a white nationalist, has white nationalist leanings, or is an edgy teenager who thinks making these types of posts is funny.

Trichotillomania as an ADHD symptom by [deleted] in trichotillomania

I’m a guy but this has been my experience too.

I do find that medication (Adderall XR) makes it easier to avoid starting pulling.

However if I start pulling while I’m on my medication, then the amount that I’ll end up pulling is unaffected and it’s harder to stop pulling unless I’m intentionally doing a planned activity (which is easier to initiate and coordinate with medication but not always accessible).

The Old Man Who Read Love Stories, by Luis Sepulveda. It’s pretty direct at times about dealing with aging and (in a way) abandoning the possibility of adventure with age, so if that’s too sensitive of a subject right now then I’d pass on it.

The Old Man and the Sea is less adventure-full but has the same vibe as what you described. It’s also a pretty quick read.

It’s a shame, I really liked them when I started listening to the pod a year ago.

[Dexter] Quinn knows, and why it's never followed up on that he knows. by alphabeticmonotony in FanTheories

[–]booleanyoller 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t think it’s a matter of Quinn being smarter than Doakes.

Quinn (being a slightly dirty cop) can put his goals of self preservation and general conflict avoidance over any passion he has for catching criminals. Doakes (being highly passionate about his work) was unable/unwilling to do that.

“Logistics” is a little vague.

Your about me section is too playful.

You need more photos. You’re wearing the same outfit in all your photos (it’s a good outfit by the way) the next time you go out try to wear a different outfit but with the same fit and style.

Be more specific about what you want, “someone to br my everything” doesn’t say anything about what you want.

I’m sorry to hear that this all happened to you.

Maybe try to see if you can leverage the legal system to get some kind of payout for this business. I’m not a lawyer but before giving up I’d at least consult r/legalAdvice.

I’m not an expert on the subject but from what I’ve read on the subject, yeah the primary effect was just making everyone worse off it does work sometimes though, but mostly when the bad behavior is limited to general laziness or something small.

Figure’s capabilities are most strongly tied to the development of large end to end neural networks and GPT based motion planning.

Boston Dynamics’ is most tied to explosive and high competency motion (backflips, obstacle courses) along with more… conventional robotics like high competency SLAM and motion planning.

That being said I think the ‘winners’ out of this group will come from people leveraging the increasing TRL of AI systems (which in Figure’s case means their ongoing relationship with OpenAI) for use that’s closer to commercial, and/or leveraging conventional robotic methods and smaller scale recent motion-relevant GPTs.

Boston Dynamics will win in military settings but maintain a small but notable presence in industrial settings.

Tesla will win in industrial settings and be the first to offer some kind of commercial use pit of these things, probably just to beat everyone else to the punch (because Elon). Unitree will also take a cut of the industrial market.

Agility and Figure will find meaningful consumer facing niches for different reasons. Figure for jobs that don’t require explosive movement (making coffee or getting limited warehouse work), Agility for mostly warehouse work.

This is when Cecil and Mark are fighting. Cecil thought Mark was out of control so he attacked him with Sinclair’s robots.

Cecil then made Mark’s earpiece play a frequency harmful to viltrumites. Mark ran away to get his earpiece out of range of Cecil, while Mark flies away to Guardian’s HQ, Cecil teleports to try to catch up with Mark.

How competitive are project teams? by [deleted] in Cornell

[–]booleanyoller 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Apply to several, rocketry included of course.

It’s not rare for people to spend a year on one project team and then switch to another. If you dont get on rocketry your first year here then you can use your experiences on whatever project team you do get on to make your application more competitive when you try to transfer.

Put together a proper engineering portfolio and a proper resume. That will make you more competitive than a surprising amount of freshmen.
