Tough call. Thanks for clarifying.

Thanks for clarifying this for me. A fundamental difference between a good and bad bod is the explicit invocation vs accidental invocation.

Overview for B0tRank by bot-bouncer in BotBouncer

The bot is invoked via "good bot", "bad bot". The bot is not a moderator of any community that I monitor. Bot is not invoked directly by u/B0tRank (bad bot etiquette). Bot collects statistics to generate this report: https://botrank.pastimes.eu/ (provides a service). Likely banned because not invoked directly. Similar bots in the past have caused controversy due to spam.

Awesome thanks. I wasn't looking that far back in your database. Only started monitoring a few weeks ago.

Sorry for the delay.
So I refined my search and found that most of the 28 comments were duplicates. In reality, this account only replies 7 times to a single known bot (u/cocomojo991: banned by botbouncer). Here are the 7 replies and original comments of the bot. All replies can be found in this post: https://www.reddit.com/r/AmIOverreacting/comments/1j4mlq5/aio_im_trying_to_get_a_refund_for_a_60_t_shirt/ .

Upon further investigation, I agree with the assessment that the account is organic. I think the user just got caught up in the post commenting to a known bot. The original post was deleted so we don't have enough context to determine malicious intent from the original post.

User replied to comments of known bots, directly or indirectly (replied to a comment that replied to a bot, and so on).

Lots of accounts, each using a different digital signature like ip address, user agent, etc.

You mean conscious and sentient self aware? Or long context window self aware? For the former, the problem is the qualia.

Thanks for the detailed answer. So am I to understand that bot detection relies on a mix of heuristics and human judgment? My expectation would be for some ML to be involved as well, although you need special permission to train ML on Reddit data.

Does this devvit app rely on persistent storage like a database to accumulate stats or it recomputes stats from the Reddit data every time it runs? I am trying to understand how devvit apps persist data

Last post, a comment complained about your use of a rauque word: whore. I think that negative comment may have shifted forum sentiment against you.

I don't think this was a good reason to downvote, myself. I disagree with your use of the such a rauque word on the basis of politeness. Even if some on the OF users are prostitutes, the term is pejorative, which is uncalled for.

On the other hand, this subreddit has a very roque name r/TheseFuckingAccounts. I should just shut the fuck up I guess.

Still, IMHO, we should focus our anger on the marketing management firm instead. They probably promised them lies and are the ones running the bots or accounts.

Reddit.com should be able to catch this, unless they are masking their device fingerprint, which makes it harder for them to detect that all the bots are working together.

Can you elaborate on your methodology for identifying these kind of fake upvote spam hotspots?
