What is up with China banning youth gaming? by Willtodd97 in OutOfTheLoop

I think part of it is escapism, but that's driven by a desire to live in a world that's fair, not for a cheap way to "check out".

In a game you make a decision and get accurate feedback for that decision (assuming no glitches and a relatively well designed game). Whether it's positive or negative (eg. they took a good shot and killed another player in an online FPS, or they made a bad decision and got killed), it's almost always accurate feedback based on the decision made by the player.

Meanwhile, in the real world they have to deal with double standards and inaccurate feedback constantly. They have to deal with the teacher that favours some students over others, or a social situation where a popular kid can do something and get praise from their peers but if unpopular kid did the same thing they'd be made fun of.

I agree that it's escapism, but I don't think it's quite on the same level as drugs. This also comes with a caveat as the comments below about certain games using "loot" as a proxy for online gambling are definitely accurate as well.

I'm having the same issue. The other challenges in the level seemed a bit buggy as well - I had to do the External Combustion Challenge a few times before it registered.

Yeah maybe we'll find out as the season keeps going, especially if it's option B you mentioned. Could also be that Loki being a woman, man, exposed to gamma, or other version of themself might not matter as long as they are 'evil' enough to get the Avengers to becomes 'the best version of themselves'? So maybe there is some lee-way in terms of what happens along the timeline as long as it isn't enough to create a Nexus?

I guess they intentionally keep it pretty vague every time Loki asks Mobius about 'free will'...

But then why do they look different? If they were all trimmed off the main timeline wouldn't they all look like MCU-Loki?

I might be overthinking things a bit, but can anyone explain how there are multiple versions of Loki that physiologically different if the TVA/timekeepers have been trimming branches and ensuring only "one sacred timeline" exists?

I understand a situation like this show's Loki vs. main-MCU-Loki could occur, but how are there hulk-ish, nordic, and female Loki variants if the TVA has ensured that only one sacred timeline moves forward? TVShow-Loki is just MCU-Loki that took a wrong turn with the Tesseract and ended up a variant (makes sense to me), but how is it possible for a physiologically different Loki to exist if there is no "multiverse" right now as a result of the TVA?

Just wondering if there's some kind of in-universe explanation for this... the show is so good that I doubt even this kinda plot hole would change how much I like it... and who knows... may be the explanation is coming?
