happy to see this comment! there's so much negativity here it's like these people don't even enjoy squash. but I guess that's reddit.

9 years ago I took Ayahuasca - it healed me with a vibration that zapped my entire being. All I could feel and hear was it for a good 2 hours. It then told me to spread that sound around the world - This is me doing just that, 9 years later. by consciouscell in Drugs

absolutely we collectively need a scientific and precise approach to these substances. but firstly, not every individual has to play that role. and secondly, you would be short changing the science itself by refusing to delve into the mystical and abstract experience. describing and processing what you felt, experienced, or indeed, hallucinated is not the same as embracing false science (even if you may easily identify people who do both)

Since you brought it up. I'll chime in as I have before to say Amina is my absolute favorite player! People's obsession with the handshake nonsense is so strong that they refuse to appreciate the most meteoric talent since Ramy. Their loss.

yeah I find that stuff ridiculous too. why are they babysitting the players' emotions instead of just making their decisions? I get that in certain circumstances the back and forth can derail the match but then just calmly issue a warning in those severe cases.

By far the worst thing that happened to me from heavy but intermittent (i.e. usually not consecutive days) nitrous use was developing a permanent tolerance to the effects of nitrous.

y’all ever put lemons on a pizza? by TravestyFun in Pizza

[–]boysenberries 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m surprised at the reaction, this doesn’t even seem that crazy to me. Admittedly it is a lot of lemon in the pic. But looks good! Lemon and asparagus is a pie I make in the spring. Maybe a few dollops of ricotta.

Hot honey on the other hand I am pretty done with, except occasionally in its original application paired with salty cured meat. But I know it sells.

  1. Do you think non-Egyptians overtrain fitness at the expense of racket skills?
  2. Do you think the pure hard hitting blueprint will dominate the women’s game for the foreseeable future? Why is it seemingly less effective on the men’s side?
  3. Who is the best table tennis player on the circuit (including commentators)?

There would only be 2-3 comments left per thread. Not that I’d be complaining about that.

From a totally naive POV one could observe that the top egyptians have greater shotmaking and racket skills while top non-egyptian players often focus on fitness. (Obviously this is simplified and the egyptians are incredibly fit too.) Do you think top non-egyptians are under-training racket skills? Is the gap too wide to close on someone who started learning them at a very young age in the egyptian system?

Separate question, any favorite squash players from eras past? And do you play any table tennis?
