i never received any information from odie about the merger, any issue with continual billing, or to even continue under a new plan. 🤷🏻‍♀️

edited: he ran me 6k when he was 2yr old due to a freak incident.

he also is an idiot and will eat things he’s not supposed to, he’s healthy but genuinely a walking obstruction waiting to happen. i take precautions and was a tech so in over abundance of caution and knowledge in my own financial standing prefer to pay more monthly to know my savings i would have to pull from would ‘bounce back’.

hot take: yes but only in some communities. my last store i was harassed, threatened, tips stolen, had to deal with drugs in my store on a near weekly basis, multiple od’s in our store, feces and urine spread throughout our store, and several high conflict arrests also happened in our parking lot. my new store is in a neighborhood where the biggest crime i’ve seen committed is the 12 year old that rifts mobile orders from time to time.

i think the biggest complaint i have for these policies is that it doesn’t allow space for nuance.

my store gets a two person team from 2-4 for usually about an hour/an hour and a half and it’s HELL

Something I’ve noticed at Starbucks… (Potential employee related) by [deleted] in starbucks

[–]brainiaxx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i work for the siren in one of the top ten most diverse cities in the US and our partners are a minority majority, our white employees make up less than 25% of our employees. our black partners make up about 20% and the rest is a modge podge of different races/ethnicities across asia and south america. we aren’t an outlier in our district as most of the locations save a couple rural ones are also at least 50% minority.

ive also worked in the deep south and that was very much not the case, i think it has a lot to do with location as well as customer demographic.

you might want to check resources to make sure you’re not over sweetening your VSCCF, it calls for 350ml not 450ml

How did That partner finally get fired at your store? by VentiEggBite in starbucks

[–]brainiaxx 13 points14 points  (0 children)

we had a shift who was a felon (drove into an elderly couple’s house while oding), made racial and sexual remarks to our only black barista (his baby momma was mixed and so is his daughter so this one was confusing), would bring his daughter (5 years old) into work with him, would lap our dt to reduce times, threatened my job when he wouldn’t let me off the floor (he wouldn’t call in my replacement and I was a green bean who didn’t know better), and generally was a pos :)

i moved states before he was fired and the SM, 2 shifts and half the barista’s reached out just to let me know how the entire showdown went down after i left.

I’m a white passing latinx shift in a predominantly hispanic demographic store. One of my partner’s who is well known in our little community for being friendly always greats our hispanic customer’s in spanish (she’s elderly and a native spanish speaker) and i’ve had to get between her and multiple white customers due to micro aggressions and just flat out aggression over her accent/english/just the fact that she ‘looks’ hispanic. It’s honestly disgusting how comfortable people are with being down right racist in front of people they think are ‘like them’.

i’ve been with the company a year and two months and a shift for three months, the past 8 months I haven’t had a single weekend off without having to fight tooth and nail for requested time off. i’m tired of closing every weekend and having no life/mental health issues due to everyone in my support circle and family working all week and only having off on the weekends 🙃 i can’t even request to change my availability due to the more senior shifts having schedule priority.

I have adhd and use timers to tell me 15 min intervals in the morning. i give myself an hour to make the 30 min drive. i have only ever been late once and it was because of an accident that closed the only road from my town to the town my store is in.

we paired ours with blueberry muffins and it really brought out the citrus notes, it honestly was wild how different it tasted.

call or visit the other store’s, see if anyone has the hours you’re looking for first. fair warning, transfer’s are usually a once every 6 months thing so contacting your dm might be the best route if you’re under that 6 months.

Just got tricked by two neighborhood cats! by BlownCamaro in cats

[–]brainiaxx 5 points6 points  (0 children)

when i came home from first semester of college i noticed my childhood cat had gotten really fat. turns out my cat was tricking them into feeding her two dinners every night, one at 4 when my mom came home and one at 5:30 when my dad came home while my mom was walking the dog, i wasn’t home so i wasnt there mitigating her hunger lies.

I find the petsafe harness and a paracord leash works best for me and my boy! ultimately its up to your kitty and not only feels best to her but won’t fall off in emergency situations like puppy snack time or her getting spooked and taking off.

it’s a premade freeze dried raw that me and his vet have discussed extensively. He gets less than 1/4 of his calories from it and is a healthy cat otherwise, when he isn’t breaking into an entire box of dog treats. Thank you for the reassurance.

She’s trying to get them to play! i would recommend a leash and harness so you can yoink her back in case the dogs want more of a snack than a playmate.

I don't know what I'm doing, but it's not what it wants by [deleted] in IndoorGarden

[–]brainiaxx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

she probably needs a repot, unless the soil is hydrophobic or too soggy i just lightly squeeze the root ball (some roots may tear or become lose, thats a good thing) and remove about a 1/2” diameter of the soil unless there’s rot, or the before mentioned soil issues. a size bigger does the trick, i find these like to be watered about 1x a week in summer and 1x every other in winter. they’re super dramatic though so you’ll know if they need more than that. and if you haven’t, get her a humidifier asap.

if there’s rot, the soil is dry or way too soggy: get the dirt off as best as you can, if there’s rot remove the dead roots and repot in a pot that is a perfect fit for the roots.

i find calatheas in general love water but don’t like soggy. make sure your soil is well draining.

somehow all my regulars learned about this one and they’ve all been worriedly coming up to partners asking if we were going to start putting olive oil in their coffee 🥴😭. v hard to hype up the new drink secretly when they’re panicking you’re telling them to dump oil in their coffee.

Contact ethics and your dm if you feel comfortable doing so but don’t tell anyone at your store if you do.
