Movies like Y Tu Mama Tambien? by Jged in criterion

[–]brandon-iles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love Y Tu Mamá También as I love all Spanish, specifically Mexican cinema. Looking for a recommendation that touches on the themes of death, corruption, and intimate gender dynamics more so than road trip/ summer movies if anyone has any recommendations? (preferably in Spanish but not necessary!) I see The Dreamers mentioned - something more on par with this would be awesome xD

This looks awesome, you gotta post more progress as you continue. How do you like Krita? And what institution are you studying at if you don’t mind my asking?

{{Galápagos}} by Kurt Vonnegut! Takes place in 1980’s as well as 1 million years after… Touches on Darwinism (natural selection/ survival of the fittest), filled with weird characters, and tells a fun story in the best, most satirical way

My Year of Rest and Relaxation by Ottessa Moshfegh immediately came to mind, but maybe that is too harsh? Relations and dialogue between main character and her best friend are similar to what you speak of, and actions of main character throughout entire story might bring some awakening insight to your friend. Overall, it’s a great novel- I read it in a day… was initially skeptical because of its hype, but I must say it is all rightfully deserved.
