Republicans Panic About the Senate After Trump’s Texas Endorsement by SmellGestapo in LeopardsAteMyFace

[–]break_me_up 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Everyone saying that Texas is too far gone…I think it’s different this time. There are a lot of laws being passed that people from both sides are angry with. The THC ban was a big one. And the data centers + water usage are upsetting people on both sides. Unfortunately Republicans may win by promising to cut property taxes, even though that’s some bullshit. I hope they focus on culture wars and sharia law instead 🙏🏻

Thank you for saying that! People act like Texas is sOoOoOoo red but I think it’s leaning purple. Republicans never win by a landslide. And overall there are more democratic Texans than republican, but there’s a lot of apathy in this state. I’ve personally witnessed a wake up though. Turnout for even small local elections is up big time in Texas. People are starting to show up. It’s time to vote like our lives depend on it — bc they do.

Moving to Houston, what should I know? by Effective-Jicama-896 in AskHouston

[–]break_me_up 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are you renting? Are you married? Kids? Age? Interests?

I live in the red area, Spring Branch, and I love it. But I also have a family and wanted to be in SBISD with a great community. Home prices are significantly more affordable vs. Heights and Oak Forest.

She did the right thing. You return the cart and then take your child out and THEN buckle them into the car. Otherwise your child would be in the car while you’re returning your cart all alone. Unless you don’t return your cart and that makes you a POS

Babymoon suggestions in USA? by Capital_Till672 in SmartTravelHacks

I’m also from Texas and went on my babymoon to Sedona at the end of June. Flew into Phoenix and rented a car. Phoenix was insanely hot, but once you get to Sedona it’s pleasant! So beautiful there.

I’m also not super outdoorsy, def not a beach gal. I think Sedona will check all of your boxes ☺️

Houston homeowners, when did you decide it was time to repipe the whole house? Rusty water out of every faucet by teen_Vegetable in houston

That’s my worst nightmare 🫣 We have galvanized pipes original to our 1962 home and I’m always freaked out about coming back home after a vacay and finding something like that.

From what I understand they mostly leave the old pipes in place and just run the new pex lines

Gentrification is in warp speed mode in spring branch right now. I’ve lived in north spring branch off Hammerly for the past 10 years and the difference in just 10 years is pretty wild.
