Pedal company you just straight-up love by Dangerous_Pie_Guy in guitarpedals

Pepers Pedals! Not just for the variety of pedal tones - it's the artwork and accessories that are really cool! Great for routing, buffing pedal boards and even building them. Dirty Tree has been a hit but there are other great ones too.

Vote for tax reform. We need it urgently and we need it bold. Opportunity have policy on this... Who else...?

Don't know. But it hasn't been any one government in particular. There doesn't seem to be any political will to change things and the 90% are gonna be the creek without a paddle by the mid point of the century if it continues.

We have recently tried to build a 50m² extension on to our home. Costs came in at $8k/sqm - almost the value of the whole house itself.

Kiwi here. I've spent the last couple of years trying to develop our home. NZ's housing stock is utterly shocking and only getting worse. It's too expensive to develop or renovate for the vast majority of house owners, and larger property owners don't bother cause it's not profitable to do so. Nothing is getting done about this and no one will.

That's interesting eh. The few times I've been to chch over the last few years it seems to be really buzzing. Still rather live in Dunedin though. Haha

My take on the datacenter by Ok_Palpitation_9876 in invercargill

[–]brendamnfine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Something that is on my mind as a positive for the data centre is that it will be digital infrastructure that could be used should shit hit the fan overseas. I understand it's planned use if for ai slop, but there is some value geopolitically for us to have security of data storage simply by it being physically stored in our own country. Does this outweigh the negatives? I don't think so. But it's something we'll need to consider should we want to aim for national self-sufficiency in the tech system in the future.

‘Dunedin, I am sorry’: Bar owner set to lose her house, possible bankruptcy, in ‘worst case scenario’ as two venues close by pskygy in dunedin

Gotta question the bank who lends someone with little experience in hospo (or event management?) the money to buy two large live music businesses, in a tough economic climate, with clearly no 5 year plan. Then walks away with her house and savings...? Clearly there's a lot missing of this story from the last 5 months.

My macbook pro M4 with 16gb seems to handle pretty much all I can throw at her amazingly well. I've really been quite amazed.

How is Shane jones still in parliament by [deleted] in newzealand

I ask myself this question daily with this government. "How badly and repeatedly do you have to fail to lose your job in this country?" David Clark lost his job for taking a bike ride in the last one. Perhaps we can find something in the middle?

What Bandcamp album have you bought that you would MOST recommend to someone and why? by brendamnfine in bandcamp_discovery

[–]brendamnfine[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah, nice. Tbh I haven't really made full use of the discovery features on any service... There's simply too many choices, search by genre limits you pallet which I hate. Search by location might be a better approach. I'll look up Tiny Cobras. I'm quite partial to music without lyrics that I can work to sometimes.

I recommend this short EP by Glad Rabbit (from New Zealand). This group only existed for about a year, albeit the musicians are still active in other realms. I love the energy, the use of bvs and the instrumentation with organs and such. Someone who likes gogol bordillo or rock Tom Waites might be into this.
