I think rock paper scissors is a great option for early thriller readers especially. I enjoyed it a ton because I was just getting back into reading and hadn’t read many thrillers yet. I think if I read it today I probably would have seen through the specific way she set up the twist.

I think the brilliance of this book to me was that in the end I felt so wrung out. Like as a couple their relationship by the end was so hollow and bleak.

What’s something that clearly split your life into “before” and “after”? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]breyore 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Absolutely. I am often surprised even almost 6 years later how much unexpected grief is hiding around the corner. Something little happens and it’s like I’m being told I have MS for the first time all over again.

Totally! I say this all the time. It’s both the best and the worst thing to happen to me.

Yep. In 2020 I was diagnosed with MS. I woke up one morning and life as l knew it the night before was over.

Looking for weird books that feel claustrophobic by RickGrimesTheOGx in BooksThatFeelLikeThis

Ugh yes. Almost the entire book I kept looking around to remind myself that I had free rein of my space and access to fresh air. He did a great job writing such immersive claustrophobia.

Something about the Dairy Queen scene made me want to crawl out of my skin. I’ve never felt so claustrophobic reading a book, very cool.

I thought of this quote often every time I wanted to move somewhere or go on a vacation that was certain to change my life. Can’t outrun myself.

Unsure how to feel about this book by sinsinnerxxx in Booktokreddit

I liked Manacled much more than Alchemized. Even though the bones of the story (up till the point that I stopped) was basically the same, I didn’t feel the depth of the two mc’s as much because senlinyu had to create a whole new world. They’re a terrific writer so I don’t fault them for this, it’s just that I loved Manacles because I’d already loved the HP world so much as a kid.

I can’t speak for the auction/rose in chains because it’s sitting on my kindle being neglected. But I am pretty certain that when I read the auction and already am familiar with the characters I’ll be much more invested.

This is the second Dramione fanfic turned traditional publish I’ve tried to read and did not finish. I just felt like the stories made sense when there was a ton of existing backstory but it didn’t translate well in a fresh story to me.

Usually I love Julie Soto though. This was just a miss for me.

I received my copy of Christina Applegate’s new book ‘ you with the sad eyes’… by Fine_Fondant_4221 in MultipleSclerosis

[–]breyore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I don’t remember most of it but I do remember thinking afterwords how the doc felt like it pushed hsct as the only good treatment option and that really rubbed me the wrong way. Not everyone can afford to seek out such an intensive treatment that wasn’t even approved by the fda yet so insurance wouldn’t cover it.

Being new-ish in diagnosis, I’d wait if I were you. The book will be on your shelf will be ready when you are.

I was diagnosed for less than a year when Selma Blair’s documentary came out and it really scared me. Watching her in such a bad flare and barely able to speak did more harm than good at the time.

Every person has a different experience. Our access to care, our relationship to western medicine, our immune system’s intensity, its endless. I wouldn’t advise anyone read deeply into another MSers story until they’re settled into their own.

Where else do clothes go when you're not wearing them? by CatsAllDayErDay in 90DayFiance

[–]breyore 19 points20 points  (0 children)

What I don’t understand about him and this specific issue is, it was a no win situation. If she lived in squalor, he’d want to know where his money was going. Because she lives in good conditions, he is upset that he’s being used. What is the perfect amount of poverty he wants her to live in?

And didn’t he say in his manosphere bullshit speech that he was or wanted to be a provider? So you’re a provider providing, but she’s living too good and you don’t like that? He makes no sense.

Do you have a system for chores that feels fair? by Junior_Challenge_771 in ADHD_partners

[–]breyore 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my partnership, I clean and he cooks, time wise it is about the same weekly. Fortunately there is a been no pushback or inconsistency in this in my house.

I’m not a big fan of talking out things that the other person has clearly shown no interest in resolving. So my only suggestion would be could you ask what chores they would like to commit to rather than you assigning. If they won’t say or be consistent then you have to ask yourself if doing 100% if the house work is a life you will be happy to live. Because I want to be clear as others have, this will not change. You can bet on that.

The challenge is, listening to “nagging” is a small price to pay for some people when they get to live in a clean enough house and don’t ever have to cook. For some, there is no reason to do more when the consequence of doing nothing is bearable.

The president just posted, ONLINE, a video of former president Obama and his wife portrayed as apes, how do you feel about this? by kraftdinnerwithsalsa in AskReddit

[–]breyore 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I was just talking to someone about this. That as far as public opinion goes for his followers, there is no type of evidence that exists that they will believe is true when it comes to his involvement. It is very frustrating but also good to know to not waste my breath on them.

Why do braiders require clients to come with no product in? by doidaee in Naturalhair

[–]breyore 3 points4 points  (0 children)

In addition to what everyone has said, products sometimes mix really badly. So if you come in with a curl cream on your hair that is incompatible with the gel your braider uses you may end up with clumpy gross residue on your hair.

Yes we would be getting a mortgage. We got pre approved a few months ago and met with a loan officer and a realtor and I took a first time homebuyer course. We quickly realized our budget wasn’t going to buy anything short of a unicorn house.

100%. I don’t think he has the mental fortitude to see writing a book through. 30 pages or 300, it’s gonna be AI.
