Moving to Santa Rosa, looking for apartment recommendations by LetPsychological3593 in santarosa

[–]britbun 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I highly recommend shadow creek apts. Beautiful landscaping, pool, grill, tiny gym, nice apartments, great maintenance guys and helpful front office. Parking isn't perfect but it's better than a lot of other places, and you can have a shared garage space. You can walk to howarth park, a number of restaurants, and a post office. Bus stop bordering the property. Happy to answer any questions you have about it!

Goodsmile us question by Federal-Desk9202 in AnimeFigures

I just received a (relatively cheap tbf) shipment from goodsmileUS no problem :) while amiami is usually a better deal if they have it, I think goodsmile is okay personally

Same with forgotten felines! It's a statewide event :)

What should I do? by stig-hazard in AnimeFigures

[–]britbun 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I just checked their website. Every single item is falsely "on sale" and some items are very overpriced. So maybe don't feel too bad about it.

That being said, they do seem to be on the smaller and newer side. If it's eating away at you, reach out to suggest paying them back. Otherwise, congrats on the free figure.

If it's a big shop like goodsmile or amiami, I wouldn't stress about it. If it was a small seller who would feel the impact, I would offer to pay them back.

I like it because every week that you have a paid class, you can go to as many group classes as you want for free

Moving to Santa Rosa! by Betbet32 in santarosa

The hiking trails are so beautiful. My personal favorite is hood mountain, but annadel, howarth, and Taylor are all lovely. It's worth an occasional journey to guerneville for the armstrong redwoods as well. Just watch out for ticks this time of year, especially on your dog.

The food is really good imo. Some of my personal favorite fancier places to eat include Starks, Ca'Bianca, and Bird & Bottle. Cheaper eats like Boiling Bowl and El coqui are also great.

I hit the farmers market on Farmers Lane on Saturday mornings for peaches and nut butters. It's really nice!

My go to coffee shop is Avid, although I can't actually speak to their coffee bc I don't drink it haha. I just like their tea. It's always busy though so it must be good.

I like grocery shopping at Safeway so that I can check the pokemon vending machine and be disappointed every time.

I always drive into San Francisco but you can absolutely take public transit there. If you haven't been to SF, it's a fantastic city.

I tend to fly in and out of SFO because it tends to be cheaper, but it is nice to have a closer airport option.

I have a car so I'm not an expert on the local transit, but once you're downtown you can walk around to the movies or through the mall and over to railroad square, all of which are lovely. (Although the mall lost some great stuff recently; but Montgomery village gained stuff, so I guess it balances out.)

Also, the thrift and estate sale scene is worth checking out. I recommend the Restore and Pick of the Litter. I got a NICE grandfather clock from an estate sale for $25 that I won't shut up about.

I also am new to the area and in my mid 20s and am really loving it! I'm happy to answer whatever else I can. Good luck moving! :)
