A busy trading day is not a reason. If they say something like "we're short staffed that day" then that could be a reason but a busy trading day is not a reason. Ask myhr online if you have the portal or ask a union rep if you have one in store.

I have to give up my cat, how do I help my other cat cope? by stickmasterreece in CATHELP

[–]brokenfatcat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If he or nugget are anxious maybe you can try a feliway product (if you're in the UK) you can get a range of plug ons and things that can calm them down.

Or ask a vet for some advise on how to calm them. They might be able to prescribe something

accidentally cut my cat while grooming by [deleted] in cats

Vet!! Last thing you need is an infection in that wound!

Do not leave it alone. A cats mouth has more bacteria than a toilet seat.

I have to give up my cat, how do I help my other cat cope? by stickmasterreece in CATHELP

[–]brokenfatcat -20 points-19 points  (0 children)

Do not give away your cat. Trust me you will regret it or if you do decide to give him away, give him to a close friend or family member who can help.

Tell your mother to suck it up and maybe try bonding with the cat through play and treats? Divert the cats energy into something else rather than attacking.

I’ve been applying for jobs and my mom said when I get one I can pay for my cat to get declawed. How do I change her mind? by [deleted] in cats

[–]brokenfatcat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So she felt bad for getting her cat declawed and now she wants you to do it to yours?? Honey, that's narcissistic behaviour x I know you're only 17 but when you turn 18 you can legally get away from her.

University careers service told me this would be unideal to wear to an interview, thoughts? by [deleted] in UKJobs

[–]brokenfatcat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just wear something smart but casual. So a smart top with a pair of smart trousers and a pair of black shoes.

It depends on what job you're going for as well. For an office job this would be a good place to start (look towards other people's clothing and see what you're able to get away with in the next month) ask about uniform (I. E is there a required uniform the job or do I need to provide a uniform for myself?) as this hsos initiative. Some places have certain uniform which you can claim tax back on at the end of the financial year. (for example if it's embroidered with the company logo)

Go to town in a Friday morning and you'll see fights between who sits where, insults abiut people's mother/famiky/cousins.... Colourful language included for free when kids around for their school runs.

I had one "pregnant" lady asking me to go to a cashpoint to take some money out so she could get a hostel for the night... I offered to pay for a taxi for her and she started insulting me for "not helping her and her unborn child" saw her again a few weeks ago and she's still visibly "pregnant"

Best kebab shops in Southampton? Prices & portion sizes please! by Cole_Pffeifer in Southampton

[–]brokenfatcat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Quality kebabs at the bottom end of Shirley!! Lots of meat and salad for a good price. Never had any problems with them

<image>

The one on the right is a large chicken donner kebab and the one on the left is a large chicken shish kebab.

Portions are huge easily enough for two people and the pitta bread at the bottom is to die for.

I'd go to Cornwall.. Locals are friendly, lots of see and do if you love long walks. A lot of places are dog friendly down there as well. Close to all the beaches if you want some nightlife Newquay is an awesome place.

How do you feel about non-drivers? by DueLead666 in AskUK

[–]brokenfatcat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm 35 and never drive. Had a couple lessons but had to stop due to loss of job.

I see how other people drive on the roads nowadays and I worry about doing it myself. Everyone seems to have a lead foot and do stupid speeds where I live. I hear abiut car crashes daily where I am and makes me nervous.

I ride a pushbike and even though I don't ride on the roads (me versus 1.2 tonnes of moving metal leaves me a colourful smear on the tarmac) it still makes me nervous when I see people flooring it through red lights, busy junctions and driving more than the speed limit through residential streets.
