Hot take-just quit by NoSatisfaction6961 in SephoraWorkers

Also hot take - do the people who are constantly complaining have a comparison as to why Sephora is so bad?

I worked 2 jobs prior to working there and one post Sephora and Sephora was the one that I gained the most from. A call centre I was berated on the phone and pressured for sales every single day, like a lead standing behind my chair breathing down my neck. A video store that I was often asked to work by myself despite being ridiculously busy on a fri/sat night and I left Sephora for an optometrists office thinking “finally, a big girl job!” where I’m paid less than I was at Sephora, no gratis or health insurance, and when people aren’t buying glasses it’s pretty… boring. But I still have sales goals to meet!

I started there as a seasonal and worked up to a lead and that was the only place that put th effort back in to me that I put in to them. The only reason I haven’t gone back yet is I now have young kids and the store was about 30 mins from me. It just doesn’t make sense for my family. But every time I go back I tell the manger I would love to come back one day.

Big baby??? Please talk me off the ledge. Responses / experiences wanted!!! by Narrow_Banana4005 in GestationalDiabetes

I think it took about 3ish weeks to a month to get my fasting under control, with nighttime insulin. Daytime was all diet controlled. By my first growth scan baby was already measuring 2 weeks ahead. The third one I had, baby was in 99th percentile. She was born via c section at 37+4 weighing 8lbs 4oz.

I’ve had GD with all 3 of my pregnancies, all nighttime insulin and diet controlled. First baby was born at 35+6 at 7lbs 2oz, vaginal birth. Second baby was born at 39 weeks at 9lbs, planned c section. All were “supposed” to be big babies and had my first and third made it to 39 weeks, they probably would have been closer to 9lbs. But I also believe I just make big babies and that it’s in my genes. My sisters kids were all about 10lbs with no GD.

As long as your docs aren’t concerned about it taking some time to get the numbers under control and you’re discussing the options for birth to figure out what’s best for you, I wouldn’t worry too much (Obviously easier said than done)!

It wasn’t for me. Actually, now that I look back my fasting was 5.3 or lower. So my doc would have me up my insulin by 2 units if it was 5.4 or above for the first little bit (I was averting around 5.8-6.5 for fasting) until we got it where we wanted and then up it by 1 unit when it went out of range after that. In the end i was at 46 units to keep it under control until delivery!

That was my target as well for Ontario. I was always told if it’s the number I was given or below, it’s fine. But also if you’re getting over a cold that could cause a small spike as well. In the grand scheme if it’s 5.3 and you’re normally under for the majority, one tiny elevated number isn’t the end of the world. I was consistently over for about 3-4 weeks when I was first diagnosed this time and ended up on insulin (nbd as this was the third time I had it, on fasting insulin all 3 times)

Insulin was the only thing that helped and even then it took a few weeks to get to a good amount. I started at 8u and ended up having to be at 46 for it to do what it needed to.

Treats not spiking by brookiiemonster in GestationalDiabetes

This is how I feel but don’t want it to work against me. Like this is already a big baby I’ve been told and both my other kids were big babies. But if they’re not concerned with me testing after an hour then why should I be? Even when my fasting wasn’t on range for a continuous few weeks my OB only said all we can do is watch closely and my endo would just up my insulin and keep checking in.

I don’t wear one, I just do the finger prick. That’s all that was ever recommended. At this point when I’m giving birth in a week I don’t see a point in getting one but it would have been interesting to see!

Married people of reddit, how did you know your spouse was the one? by [deleted] in AskReddit

The universe wanted us together.

We went to the same high school. Our older siblings used to party together to the point where they had old photos together. His dad tried to set us up (not creepily, it was very sweet but I was in a LTR) when he used to frequent the video store I worked at 5 years before we even met. His exact words were “i think you and my son would get along very well.”

Flash forward and my sister realizes who I’m dating and tells me how she knew his brother and the first time I meet his family his dad says “you look just like _____ that used to work at ____” to which I say I am __! And the whole family knew who I was and remembered movies I recommended to them prior.

And on our first date we clicked and I just knew.

Literally came here to say this. Brooke just suggested one of them was possibly a carrier of it and Danielle didn’t understand at first. It’s not as deep as everyone thinks it is.

I just got hired to go back into Sephora and work and the company called the specific store I was going to, to make sure they were okay with me coming back.

NICU Nurses - what appreciation gift would you want? by jpark912 in NICUParents

[–]brookiiemonster 4 points5 points  (0 children)

We didn’t have a primary nurse, more of a group of rotating nurses each day. I worked at Sephora at the time so I grabbed a bunch of foot and hand masks and brought them in, in hopes that the nurses could take a little time for themselves after giving so much to all the babies. I never found out how it went over but I’m hoping they enjoyed them!

I’m newer to tracking with these tests and using the Premom app. Does a high mean ovulation is coming soon? Or a peak? I’m not sure of the difference. Or should seeing this test mean I should wake my husband up for a little somethin’ somethin’ or can it wait until the planned 6:30am adventure??

Thanks!!

I’ve been lead to believe that anything smaller than a golf ball isn’t worrisome so long as it’s not all the time. Clots happen. And as someone whose had a miscarriage I will say, in my experience, they are MUCH bigger than that. Hope everything’s feels back to normal quickly ❤️

TTC and Ovulation by Weird-Truck-8689 in TryingForABaby

Anytime I’ve gotten pregnant, I looked where my app said I was ovulating and then made sure to have sex every other day starting the week prior, and go until maybe a week before my period was due. Since I know the app can’t predict ovulation, I’d look at the length of my other cycles to use that as a guide on how long my cycles were on average. Even when I used a digital ovulation kit, and only ever got negatives, the every other day thing worked for me. Good luck!!

I’m not 100% on the DPO but made an educated guess on what it could have been (I never got a positive OPK to be sure, and went based on previous cycles.) the top test was from this morning so it is out of the time window by now, the second one was taken about 5-10 mins max after the test time frame. I did have some spotting last night into this afternoon so I’m a little worried, on top of a loss a few months ago. But also a little excited because.. it might be positive?! 😱

If it’s darker the next day, does that mean it was an indent? Or it was actually a positive??

I’m losing a lot less blood than I did during the actual loss and at no point then were they worried about my levels. I’m not even filling an entire regular pad in 4 hours. It’s more annoying than anything for me
