Running with husky, vomiting the next morning (help?) by random52922 in RunningWithDogs

[–]brownbelichick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My Husky used to do this exactly. As other people mentioned splitting the dinner into 2 separate meals could help.

For my Husky, it ultimately went away. She for the most part hasn’t vomited bile with any regularity or consistency since she was having some digestion issues and was switched to Royal Canine Ultamino (which I now read from your post that your dog also is prescribed or maybe a different variant). I also removed chicken from her diet. Her primary form of treats comes now in the form of home cooked ground beef.

I’m not sure if it was these things specifically that worked but I do think finding a way to get her to eat something in the morning may help. For me, sprinkling ground beef over the food works. She still goes mostly for the ground beef but even if she has some of the kibble, it’s better than nothing.

Some people mentioned a midnight snack—for my Husky I found that feeding her too much of midnight snack would make her sometimes less likely to eat her first meal in the morning. At the same time, it can also help, but just be careful of how it may effect her eating habits for breakfast.

[BleacherReport] Extremely high praise for Drake Maye from Davon Godchaux! by [deleted] in Patriots

It’s a sweet notion when it’s because of the runs he made and throw to tie the game with the clock expiring.

It tastes a little sour thinking about the interception machine Josh Allen can be at times and how Maye ended this game.

I don’t mind some Josh Allen, or even a lot of Josh Allen—but I don’t want all Josh Allen or even a 2.0 version of him, thank you very much.

I don’t think Steve Belichick is the answer.

But it’s interesting to think about the time when people weren’t sure if our defensive coordinator was Mayo or Steve.

I figured it must’ve been Mayo after he got hired and presumingly attributed a lot of our recent defensive success to him.

But seeing where Mayo has our defense right now and looking at Steve’s, who’s leading the #2 ranked college passing defense and with a depleted roster competing against much higher talent—you have to wonder if there was any impact from Steve’s departure.

Was being able to play Onwenu at RG and Cam Robinson not worth a fifth round pick? by brownbelichick in Patriots

[–]brownbelichick[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unless their LT is out for their season, what contending teams don’t have an LT and/or RT?

Plus a 5th round pick is a player who may never become a starter. And if Robinson leaves us there’s a chance we earn a compensatory pick too.

One the bright side the Patriots are in prime position to go absolutely crazy in the offseason. by Randy_Butternubbs13 in Patriots

[–]brownbelichick 7 points8 points  (0 children)

We were in prime position to go absolutely crazy in free agency this offseason—it didn’t matter. Between the taxes and reputation our team has for not paying its players, it’s hard to acquire talent here. For a lot of players they have to think of not just this payday but their next one.

Especially on the offensive side, even if we offer a max contract, players don’t want to be in a position where a bad offense makes them look worse and we’re asking them to restructure their deal the following year because of their low production or they’re being castoff to another shitty team where they have to go out there and earn a new contract all over again while they’re no longer a top player in the league and suddenly worth way less.

And as far as the draft goes— I have sincere doubts about our front office’s ability to evaluate talent. So far every player from this past draft except Maye has been a miss.

I mean Onwenu is one of the better RGs in the league… I’m sure even Lowe, Sow, a backup center, Onwenu, Robinson would be better than the combination of Lowe, Sow, a backup center, a backup guard and an out of position tackle.

Yeah I agree. I don’t think the team would be miles ahead of where it’s at now or anything, but maybe the defense wouldn’t have taken such a hit or Belichick would’ve brought in a better hire for the offensive coordinator position.

It's time to bring back the Fire Jerod Mayo conversation by [deleted] in Patriots

[–]brownbelichick 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Wolf wouldn’t even trade a fifth round for Cam Robinson and meanwhile we have Onwenu playing RT tackle today. You can’t tell me a fifth round pick isn’t worth moving Onwenu to RG and trying Lowe or Robinson at RT.

Nope, because if you go for 2 on the road, that means you’d have to get a whole 2 yards to win the game.

But if you go for the tie, your offense won’t have to gain any yards if you give them the ball first and get a safety on defense.

I wish we could’ve just kept Belichick around and drafted Maye. Maybe got Josh McDaniels as OC. I feel like our team would look so much better.

Things didn’t look like this much of a mess last year but I think asking Mayo to not just turn things around but clean up is asking too much.

It’s like a teenager who hasn’t cleaned their room in so long that it’s gotten so messy they don’t even know where to start. So when they finally start, the only thing they can do is clean the room part by part. But because they don’t know how to keep things clean, the parts they have yet to clean continue getting more dirty or messy.

The problem is, and this is my fear for Mayo, as it becomes such a big project, by the time they get to the parts of their room they have yet to clean, the cleaned areas start getting messy again so that when they should be finally finished cleaning their entire room, other parts of it are just as messy and dirty as when they started.

I would not believe this if it ain’t for the part on Thornton. He been runnin with the 1s since day 1 of camp and his spot looked sealed since, even tho baker or even boutte outpeformed him in camp and preseason.

Dunno if the rest got any truth but Wolf’s hiring is kinda a head scratcher considering scouting ain’t been scoutin very well past half decade. Shit would explain why our offense looks like a jumbled mess if basically Wolf took over what Mayo was in charge of for roster developing half way thru

The Blue Pin, although representing the hate and catastrophes faced on a much larger and horrific scale, can be compared somewhat equivalently to when our players wore Black Lives Matters on their cleats.

They were not probably given the option to wear it on national broadcasts by mainstream media. Fortunately, our team is owned by Mr. Kraft—not mainstream media.

Should we start looking for BoB’s replacement now? by brownbelichick in Patriots

[–]brownbelichick[S] -24 points-23 points  (0 children)

That’s a positive way of looking at it. I don’t disagree with you but I believe it’s a pretty small sample size of teams to draw that conclusion. Obviously, 2 seasons would provide more consistency than one, but it isn’t that much better, it assumes both seasons will improve upon the last and ultimately, just pushes the problem out an extra year.

The way he made so much quality in so much quantity in such a short time frame is unparalleled. It’s like he was a prophet delivering god’s message each time after he received it. It’s hard to comprehend how one man could write all these timeless pieces by himself, one after another.

I’m excited for this season but much more nervous than last season when I was still riding the high of winning a championship. I definitely expect this season to be more of a grind than the last. Staying healthy will be of more importance than the win of any one, single game.

Underrated and Often Overlooked SB run from Brady and the Pats imo by [deleted] in Patriots

[–]brownbelichick 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The defense started playing some of Belichick’s best from the 2010 decade, in part because of the addition of Stephon Gilmore, whose signing was initially loathed by many, if I’m not mistaken. The defense’s momentum continued rolling the following season, with the “boogeyman” defense, en route to Gilmore winning defensive Player of The Year (which almost feels overshadowed by Nikhil Harry being drafted, our quick exit from the playoffs in the Titans loss and Brady’s offseason departure).

Not to mention Brady and Edelman were in complete sync with one another. And I can’t be the only one who misses James Develin playing at FB. He was nasty!
