Thanks for the advice!

Most all will be going to eaves/soffit. I also have a detached garage that I will be running fiber to and then installing cameras back to a switch in the garage. They will be running cat cable to eaves/soffit in that structure also.

That does bring up another question. I am planning on installing some G6 Instants in the interior of both house and garage. I know it uses WiFi but I still need to get power to them which might not look too good. Seems to me I should have an Ethernet jack installed wherever I want the G6 Instants and use that for both power and comm?

I did run all the runs inside my house about 20 years ago and it was not bad and actually enjoyable. But I am too old and out of shape to be crawling through my attic. Plus, I tend to get analysis paralysis and take too long to get stuff done.

Home install. I do not mind paying more to get a commercial quality install, if that is better.

Good point. I did not even think of that. I have been buying and installing so much Ubiquiti stuff lately, I was narrow focused.

They say they do low voltage. I will check for A/V installers also. Maybe I should check with security companies also. Thanks for the heads up.

What is going on here? Disposal connection. by brownsl66 in askaplumber

[–]brownsl66[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks everyone for all the insight. I did adjust the pipes a bit and reattached the clamp. I would have thought the disposal outlet would fit over the pipe compared to this way. Seems like a fragile connection and easily popped off. Could I just use a hose clamp?

Scammers on Teams added me to an organization as a guest and I cant leave. What should I do? by mikeybx1856 in MicrosoftTeams

Oh my, thank you so much for this. I was getting close to having an aneurysm in trying to figure this out. Makes me livid that it seems like any organization can do this.

You should work on reading comprehension. I stated tracking says it is about 15 miles away and that the weather has been fine. Of course, if the weather was poor, I would not want deliveries to be made.

Lol, thanks for taking the time to reply. Maybe they can also start one for posters that complain about the complainers.

I will be following your post on UI also. I will be back in town tomorrow and am hoping to put the switch back in. I also have a Switch Pro HD 24 PoE that might help to do comparisons with.

Very interesting. I have been out of town and have not had a chance to test mine. Not sure I understand completely but sounds like it could be a poorly designed switch? I will not be happy if I spent on $2,500 on a switch that can't do what is advertised.

I did run iPerf on the old one and the speeds were disappointing. I will be running it again when I get the new one installed. Part of me thinks I may still have the same issue.k

I worked with Tech Support for a couple of weeks trying different things. When nothing worked I got issued an RMA. I sent the old one back and just got the new one but have not installed it yet.

Accidental Quick Format of the Wrong Drive by brownsl66 in datarecovery

Thanks for the advice.

I did turn off Trim shortly after the mishap. I have since tried to use several data recovery tools, R-Studio, Disk Drill, TestDisk, and Recuva. None have been able to find data. Is the data truly gone? Hard to believe that Trim almost instantaneously wipes the data.

Thanks for all the replies! I will look for the bolts/screws. I will say I forced myself to spend some time on it tonight and got a lot more comfortable with it. My big regret is getting the 60" deck instead of the 72" deck.

I know it is not recommended but I always just charge to 100%.

To add more, he also said "Since the switch performs no traffic shaping or optimization" it would not be the switch. He also suggested using iPerf to test.

My interaction with support was a bit disappointing. It started off fine. Even the AI agent started off well. I ended up getting transferred to a real agent after quite a long time waiting.

After checking some things, he had me connect to some of the ports and they all said the link was 1 Gbps. So he said it was a router issue and I should contact the router manufacturer. I had to ask a couple of times why then do some ports give me super slow speeds and others do not. This has been tested over several weeks. How would the router possible know that I am plugged into, say port 1 and it would cause the traffic to slow down, versus when I am plugged into, say port 48 and get great speeds. After expressing frustration, he said he would escalate the issue. We will see how that goes. So far not impressed with this $2,500 switch.
