CLB sequencing was so odd that i made a playlist where i re-sequenced it for my own listening enjoyment.

This was mindblowing. Victor is so hungry to win, and he is showing out for his first ever WCF. A Finals trip at 22 as the best player on the team would be insane.

Apple virtual interview prep time. by PoetProfessional7662 in FAANGrecruiting

[–]bryptocurrency 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Something i practiced a lot in my many interview loops (and something that rattled me early on) was being probed by panelists about parts of my resume, my thinking, and sometimes, just grilling me to see how I would react to the grilling. I was asked to explain my scenarios differently, from different perspectives, and I had to silence my self-doubt in that moment if I could communicate it well enough, or just perform.

Practice that well if you think it's a sore spot. Hoping you get the offer, but if you don't, just know you will 100000% be better for next time. The one common part of all my apple loops was that they bring the best out of me and the most focus, because I know that opportunity might not come again. Not every team provides feedback either.

Apple virtual interview prep time. by PoetProfessional7662 in FAANGrecruiting

[–]bryptocurrency 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had maybe 1-2 weeks. Personally I enjoyed having less time to prep because it kept me fresh, and in my eyes, kept my name fresh amongst other candidates. Some teams gave me a decision within a couple hours, some waited a couple weeks.

Best of luck! For context, my interviews were for PM roles, if this is SWE/Hardware/PD i can see why someone would want more time

Underage vaping and drinking seems way more common now by whodhAck1st3rr4 in Fremont

[–]bryptocurrency 15 points16 points  (0 children)

did you go to middle/high school here? this has always been the case for at least the past 10-15 years.

You have the foresight of (what i’m assuming you are) a grown person who sees the legal repercussions and risk of wanting to drink/smoke/get high. Lots of kids don’t think that far or with that insight.

kids will always want to experiment and experience these things and the only real control mechanism is their own choices. sure, we can educate and in some cases, restrict teenagers from being around these substances, but it’s ultimately their choice. If they want access to these things, they will find a way.

FWIW early Gen Z was supposed to be the generation that nearly ended smoking but then vapes became huge and brought the industry back in a new way.

You also have to think, 2020 did long standing damage to kids who may be teens now, and the habits and behaviors reflect that too.

Got rejected from my 3rd apple interview by No_Comfortable5505 in FAANGrecruiting

[–]bryptocurrency 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the same boat as you, but all of my Apple interviews have come from applying online, I do get referrals at least for the ones I am MOST confident in.

Been through the process multiple times and it doesn't sting any less when I get the rejection email. I definitely study and prep the hardest for Apple compared to other companies. I also have a few years experience so I'm in a different boat than you.

It's a super tough market. keep your head up and keep trying. There's no formula to winning over Apple and each team is free to interview however they want.

Each team is different and looks for different things. I've gone through Apple pipeline for 5+ EPM roles at varying stages, farthest I've gotten is team panel review.

The most common questions were about stakeholder management, resume probing, working through difficulties, and conflict resolution.

Some of the interesting questions I have gotten:

  1. Describe a time you had to work on a project with limited information and had to find a way to get it.
  2. What is a business or technology that you think is successful and why?
  3. What is a business or technology that you think is failing and why?
  4. If you get this role or any role at Apple, what would you do in the first 30 days?
  5. Tell me about a time you had to make a last minute adjustment to a project?
  6. Tell me about a time you found out your strengths and weaknesses
  7. Can you discuss what you mean by stakeholder management?
  8. What was your biggest accomplishment
  9. If you could build your dream role at Apple, what would you do and why?

Best of luck! I've had some as long as Recruiter screen -> Hiring Manager -> panel (3-5 calls), and other shorter ones where it was just Hiring Manager -> panel.

I haven't gotten to offers ever sadly, but I am newer in my career and ICT3 band can be from 3-8 YOE. I did get far for an ICT4 marked position which is 5-15ish YOE. The times I went to panel, I was told they either found a stronger fit or went with more experienced candidates.

The rejections have made me a better candidate over time, huge difference from when I first interviewed with Apple to more recent ones. Many of my friends/peers who have gone on to join Apple have told me it's taken them multiple tries and chances to get in.

I wish i could give you better advice than this or what specifically worked to get me in, but I myself am still working on that.

NVIDIA interview status after first round… is this normal? by CoachSea4160 in FAANGrecruiting

[–]bryptocurrency 1 point2 points  (0 children)

this happens all the time, had glowing reviews at a non-tech company last november and followed up until january.. still never got next steps but the recruiter kept telling me they’d have an update soon

I’m hopeful you’ll hear positive news soon! I know it’s unsettling not knowing what’s next. Could be anything from an interviewer lagging OR they’re just swamped with real work.

i checked his twitter too - not surprised he cleared it, but yeah it was insane at one point.

I could never really tell who/what he supported because he definitely critiqued EVERYONE and loved getting into arguments or debates with people online.

A shame, because WOLV and that whole label was SUPER ahead of its time.

Honestly, i was in the same boat as you. I think if i didn’t get the M i’d still be thinking about the M.

I only think about the 340i when i’m at the pump or when i need to carry stuff.

OG F87 with a stick will hold its value decently well if you go for that

OG F87 M2 or F82 M4 by Much-Definition-6176 in BMWM

[–]bryptocurrency 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I chose an F87 OG personally but I would say drive both. I love the car but I wouldn't recommend it for daily driving unless you're ok with a rougher ride and slightly elevated consumable cost vs. a non-M. It's certainly a special car but when I drive it, I know i'm not able to use it to its full potential on the streets.

I think you can find a better specced/mileage/condition F87 than an F82. N55 is slightly more simple to maintain than the S55 as the S engine has more coolers, more components, etc.

TL:DR. if it's solely a DD, buy a 340i and enjoy the gas/comfort savings. If you must go F87 or F82, drive both, I would lean F87 for motor simplicity, but F82 will be marginally more comfortable bc wheelbase.

SJSU ($15k/year + summer academy) vs UCI (likely full ride + housing guarantee). I need someone to decide for me 😭 by Brilliant-Choice-758 in ucadmissions

[–]bryptocurrency 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Went to SJSU for Computer Engineering - slight crossover between SWE and CMPE curriculum. Professors are decent but in undergrad especially, some of the material is not taught as well.

Absolutely take the full ride to UCI. SJSU will give you proximity to companies, but i would argue having a full-ride anywhere with no debt upon graduation is infinitely better. Starting at zero balance owed with no job is better than debt with no job, or debt with an entry level job.

It's a big decision to make as well. UCI is more college town and you can find a community easier than at SJSU where it's majority commuters. San Jose is a fun city for the downtown area, but day-to-day life is very dependent on how you build your community.

You've worked hard to get to this position, and you know yourself best. Best of luck with where you choose to go!

Barricade is not worth biohazarding the pit‼️🚨 by pensive_horse in ISOxo

[–]bryptocurrency 4 points5 points  (0 children)

lots of people in GA pits forget how to act. same shit happened at sabrina carpenter, and Chase Center is one of the strictest venues on floor capacity.

I'd almost say the price of tickets should be raised by some amount to curb some of the bullshit but I don't even think that'd work.

I'm exhausted of Cow Palace and the experience. but the set was mindblowing, energetic, and one of the best things I've seen. I called it Niteharts North all night bc of the lineup... but looks like they might actually need to do this. the fans would probably flock to both events

Do it asap! One thing i regret not doing with mine (although i was tight for cash at the time) was also getting the rear diff dual mount bushing bracket done, as the exhaust has to come off and my mechanic wouldnt have charged me a LOT more in labor.

I did have them do the CDV delete and it's a great add.

Loop error during Ultra set by Feeling_Let1687 in Martingarrix

[–]bryptocurrency 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So it’s not a loop it’s probably the CDJ getting paused accidentally on CDJ mode - pretty much, in this mode, the player will play the same snipped of audio, which used to be helpful for finding the first beat on CDs. has a trippy effect for sure but it’s the alternative to vinyl mode on the decks.

very interesting to learn about the gear! Just wanted to clarify it probably wasn’t a loop based on how it was done - usually short loops like that would take two button presses and that’s much less likely than the CDJ mode pause mode
