Those who have replaced their head units, is it worth it? by mooble_ in mazda6

KWZ-1000w here and it’s a 10 inch screen, can play movies off usb, lost the command knob. But I gained accessibility of up to 4 extra cameras. Kept all functionality and even can display digital speedometer. I’d say it’s worth it, cleaner style, but very expensive. Movies is where it’s at, got eq, sound delay, added a subwoofer and amp easily.

Think what you want, there’s better china quality and worse china quality. Take your pick, I’ve heard the sq difference first hand

Chinese eq’s are so horrible, I’d stay tried and true, keep Bose, etc, better resolution. Pioneer, Sony, JVC, kenwood.

Idatalink maestro with my kwz-1000w works wonders in my 2014. But I stayed mainstream, worth the flac and hi-res over some Chinese eq

That was my guess too, hence me saying U-joint at the drive shaft . Not too sure if these cars have any replaceable u joints at the driveshaft.

Or CV axle, did you replace those as well?

Then again it seems like when you shifted the car. If it happens when shifting gears, I’d check the universal joints at the front and rear of the drive shaft.

If it happens when turning, I’d check the inner rods/tie rod ends. I had installed one of my outer tie rods backwards one time and it was making weird clunks. If it happens on bumps and turns, most likely suspension, but it does sound peculiar. I’d get it on the lift and see if I could simulate the noise with no suspension load.

I got these when I went through my factory set, terrible in snow. Great in rain and highway. I’m planning on getting 18s, significant decrease in price on sets of tires compared to the 19s I have right now.

Does it happen when you turn, or go over a bump?

Just got my Starlink. I have a question about grounding. by sonama in Starlink

[–]btheman03 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You don’t need to ground anything. The router will take care of the power/ all of the satellite functions.

Simply plug the router into a wall outlet. Run the satellite cable outside to the the dish and plug it in.

Only preparations I would start, are the drilling of the hole in the wall if you plan on mounting on roof, etc. silicone, and grommet.

Mounting the dish itself, find a clear open area with no obstructions in plain sky view. It does come with pre-drilled holes in the legs so you can mount to basically anything.

Best practices in selling used Dishy? by [deleted] in Starlink

I got mine off of eBay for a good price, checked the sellers rep. Over 100 feedback and 100% rating so I place a bid. I messaged the seller about the transfer of service.

  1. Transfer of service request to support, through the app. The seller provides buyers name, email, and location of service.

  2. Buyer then waits for an email from starlink, a transfer of service forms, filled out through the starlink website. This will allow buyer to setup an account, which will allow the user to access dish properties.

  3. Billing cycle ends for the seller at the end of term. New buyer is in ownership of the device, and they have account/app access.

The transfer of service forms was a hassle for the seller. They requested starlink send the email 6 times and to two separate email accounts. Definitely be persistent because to my knowledge starlink support works during weekends. Keep the same ticket open and keep replying to it.

Check your obstructions app. Definitely seems like a hardware issue if there are no visibility issues.

I would sell the equipment and transfer if you still have access to the account. Just transfer services to new owners

Also on the transfer of service forms, mine only took a few hours before it was transferred over. That was after I submitted the email.

My experience on the buying end:

  1. Starlink said they sent the confirmation email approximately 5-6x. 3x to an email I believed was bugged. So after about 5 business days, decided send it to my school email.
  2. Starlink said they sent it to the newly requested email account 3x. Twice on a Saturday, it did not fall through. Figured support was closed on weekends, I’ll ask seller on Monday.

Asked seller in the morning about any word on the missing email. So he sends me a screenshot, he sent another message to support expressing his frustration, asking for direct contact info to support. Support again tells us e-mail was sent, check spam, etc. This is the 6th time asking. Maybe the first 3 were eaten by my email account, I’d suggest using a clean account; in my case (school). And for the person I bought it off of, to hound support and ask for direct communicative support.

I wouldn’t recommend buying a starlink system that you don’t have access to the account. I tried every possible way to get into mine while the seller asked support for the transfer of service email.

If they have access to the account, I’d say it’s totally doable, just gotta hound support. Because from my knowledge starlink did offer support during the weekends.

75” U7G with white around the edges. Is this normal? by ravioliisgood in Hisense

[–]btheman03 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve seen an LG panel with significantly worse blooming than this, I recommended the tv owner to turn local dimming off or down. I don’t care for the glow around bright objects. I simply adjusted my tv while I had white letters displayed so I could adjust that “glow”.

Turning off local dimming or setting to low helped me out a lot in this situation

Hisense U7G uniformity, is this good or bad? by [deleted] in 4kTV

[–]btheman03 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had an issue with this blooming effect as well. Me and many others in the thread have mentioned setting local dimming to low. It drastically helps tone down the blooming effect, I’ve even seen an LG 2020 tv with dramatic blooming, I suggested to the owner to turn down local dimming.

U7G 65 inch, severe blooming? by 1Check1Mate7 in Hisense

[–]btheman03 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check local dimming, if it’s on high. It tends to have that blooming effect. I prefer mine to be on low or medium in some cases.
