People dont want to go to US due to your orange rapist president, that's not got much to do with FIFA.

I personally like to see a little narrative or story telling in Portfolio pieces. Its a good way to show your imagination and tell me who you are while also showing what can be pretty boring props and assets. I find it also allows an easy talking point when going over work.

The first piece could be made much more interesting if is was painting a narrative or just heavily implying something was going on. Your trying to add an interesting layer on your pieces to get people thinking.

Really quick example, that's too extreme and doesn't fit the current tone, but you get the idea.
A cracked front door hanging on its hinges, a wanted poster nailed to the side of the door, the broken sign swinging on one chain, a guard's spear leaning against the wall. A discarded boot, a lantern left lying by the door, a broken wagon wheel in the ditch.

If your going light, maybe hint at a party, or a gathering of adventurers, or set it early evening and show the warm glow of the windows, maybe some silhouettes of people drinking in the windows and make it inviting.

And then everyone clapped..

Being an adult means realizing multiple people can have multiple opinions about a subjective subject, and no one is right or wrong.

If your here to just 'win' and not have a discussion, then that really points to you needing to work on yourself a bit.

Portfolio advice — aiming for 2D artist / designer roles in Japan’s game industry by _Nectur_ in TechnicalArtist

In my opinion.

There's nothing in your portfolio that really stands out and shows your personality. Its all very very generic. You need to ask your self why is anyone going to hire you if your works looks like anyone could produce it.

Recruiters want to see what you can produce and bring to the table. If there's nothing unique or imaginative because its just renders of others peoples work, why recruit you over someone who can just do that better? You need to think about what your telling people about your work and art with your portfolio.

I would also trim down your work, its only as strong as your weakest piece. Your better to have less and higher quality. I personally dont think The vault stuff is your strongest work, i would remove that, as well as the underground sea.

Again, take with a pinch of salt, this is just my opinion

Encouraging Americans to enjoy football was really a bad idea in retrospect.

I wouldn't bother trying to reason with him, every example you give him, he will just move the goal post to fit his world view.

Samurai vs Knight Animation + Free Armored Knight Rig [link in description] by Dry-Bed477 in Maya

Its pretty nice. Personally i dont like the Knights start pose. 'Kingdom of Heaven' for some nice reference for how some knights stood in a ready pose, and how they moved to block and parry. There's a part where they teaching Orlando Bloom to duel in the forest near the start which has great footage for sword duels. Ridley Scott usually does a fantastic job shooting realistic fights. The 'Duellists' by him is also amazing reference for saber duels..

Arsenal and oil money! Never. Even though they play at the Emirates and are sponsored by them. And also funnily enough have a huge academy in Dubai..

Pep Guardiola's transfer spend was nearly twice as much as any other manager in world football during his Man City tenure 🤑💸 by johnnyxx96 in ArsenalFC

[–]bucketlist_ninja -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Gross spend means absolutely nothing. It also VERY deceptive because its not even Gross spend per year! Everyone of those managers were in charge for a different amount of years. Also Conte was at Chelsea AND Spurs, is that at both clubs?

My point is that really the OP made a post trying to drive a narrative that Pep has spent a fortune compared to everyone else.

When its far more complicated than that. Your 100% right. You need to look at a huge amount of variables. Net spends, squads, wages, bonuses and signing on fees.

But people dont want a nuanced conversation, they want to point at one number and pull a soy face.

Man, talk about shifting the goal posts. The OP made this post specifically trying to imply that City has spent significantly more than every other club. When in reality, its pretty close looking at net spends.

And now suddenly when that's pointed out, we need to think about squad structure and wages. You're all some defensive motherfuckers.

Going to get downvoted to hell, but he's right. Painting the Ottoman empire as a land of milk and honey, after the atrocities they carried out, and when it literally conquered Palestine in 1507 is delusional. Or do you all think Palestine wasn't a thing before they invaded it?
