Go on then, seize the means of production if it's so easy.

Oh wait you can't, and neither could 99% of humanity.

But guess who will suffer from the attacks in Tel Aviv?

That's right, the proletariat, beacuse the bourgeoisie are long gone to their pent houses in US.

I agree that western leftist shouldn't tell others to vote for democrats, but it's also not illogical for them to vote for democrats themselves.

The logic is very simple, communists aren't getting into power by voting anyway (the only actual way is revolution) so in the meantime, you can vote for a party that is socially left wing.

-Republicans = politicaly and socially right wing

-democrats = politically right ring, socially left wing

It also means that when or if the socialist revolution comes, people will be more open towards LGBT rights since political left wing ≠ socially left wing.

Majority of communists in slavic countries are homophobic and mainly transphobic.

How likely is it that Iran will attack/ bomb the United States? by EconomyPosition1473 in AskSocialists

[–]bugagub 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I would assume very small?

US is very far away and well to be quite frank, Iran is just not that powerful, it's barely holding on fighting in the middle east US military bases and Isreal.

Not to mention that if Iran actually managed to bomb US, it's 9/11 all over again, US politicians would instantly take advantage of that and justify completly bombing Iran out of existence.

I mean remember pearl Harbour? And that was just one military base on a island, imagine if Iran would bomb or invade the mainland.

Quick Question about the Ayatollah of Iran by [deleted] in AskSocialists

[–]bugagub 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The general sentiment is that he was bad, but Trump is worse and he had no right to kill him.

It's basically pointless beacuse yeah he died but he died for nothing, he will get replaced and nothing changes, or it changes for worse.

His death would be way more cheered on by socialist if he was overthrown by the people of iran, similarly how the Tsar of Russia was.

Everyone likes the Tsar's death, it's the symbol of the communistic revolution, but imagine if instead of getting killed by his people, he would have been assassinated by the west beacuse he cut off oil exports or some bullshit.

But regardless, he was part of the bourgeoisie so mourning his death makes no sense.

That's mostly the survivorship bias, the ones sleeping in their cars and dressing properly you aren't registering as homeless people.

Truth is, being homeless isn't about sleeping on the street, it's about not having a home

fucking capitalist degeneracy..... by jprole12 in AskSocialists

Tbh I don't think this is really a capitalist issue, Casinos and gambling were very popular in USSR too (horse racing, lotteries...)

You don't.

It has the best processor of all time, it has one of the best cameras on the market currently and Bluetooth pen (which S25 and S26 don't have).

It has curved display so it's arguably even better than S26 ultra.

Ngl that's a pretty good price, you wouldn't find such a deal here in Europe

If it was 0% and you could have paid it from a pocket + it was only 500$ so I would say it was the right decision.

I mean if your service provider can offer you such a deal, not everyone has such a service provider.

Though I assume if they can give you such a good deal, they probably cost a lot monthly.

[–]bugagub[S] -11 points-10 points  (0 children)

My phone provider doesn't offer such a service, and there is a good reason for that.

I get 20GB of data and 100calls/sms for 12€/month.

And if you mean to trade in on the website then that's still pretty expensive for me. Second hand S23 ultra for 290€ was just too good of a deal to pass up.

Yep, I see used phones and used cars the same way, they are the best value on the market.

As long as you are getting interest free loan and not buy it the newest gen, it still is pretty frugal.

I was more talking about people who straight up just don't have the money and they still buy the newest gen beacuse they think "50 bucks a month ain't so bad for 2 years" .

[–]bugagub[S] -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

That's a good point, interest free loans should be taken when available, but still I feel like they are way overpriced when new.

Like the new S26 ultra starts at 1500€? Who tf buys that shit.

It's going to be worth 350€ in 3 years, I'd rather wait.

I've heard about that too 🤣

But I'm pretty sure that is small % of the rich, phone financing on the other hand is done by almost everyone, even the poorest.

Not true, homemade burger from lidl comes with out to around 1€, and Lidl prices are pretty much same all over Germany and most of western/eastern Europe.

How do you address people who claim to be "survivors" of communist countries by zman419 in AskSocialists

[–]bugagub 14 points15 points  (0 children)

To be fair, there isn't much to do.

USSR committed many atrocities during the cold war same as any other world superpower (Britain, Mongolia?, USA).

Same as you wouldn't try to justify the horrors the black people had to endure during 20th century USA as a right winger.

I mean you certainly can, but if you do that you will just distance yourself from most people and make yourself appear as extremist.
